Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obviate the degradation in display grade by scattering and transmitting of light by spacers and to improve the contrast of display in particular by adopting the constitution in which color filters have the spacers formed by laminating colored layers consisting of three primary colors on a black matrix and that an active matrix substrate has insulating films in the parts of the color filters in contact with these spacers. SOLUTION: The color filters are formed by providing the surface of the transparent substrate 1 which is one substrate with the black matrix 2 and further, arranging the colored layers 3 to 5 consisting of the three primary colors thereon. A liquid crystal layer 8 is held by a pair of the substrates 1, 13, of which the one substrate is the active matrix substrate 13 including thin- film transistors or thin-film diodes, etc. The color filters of this color liquid crystal display element have the spacers formed by the lamination of the colored layers 3 to 5 consisting of the three primary colors on the black matrix 2 and the active matrix substrate 13 have the insulating films 1 in the parts in contact with the spacers of the color filters.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a membrane good in performance and durability by providing the subject membrane with a separating function layer consisting substantially of a phenylene sulfide copolymer represented by a specific formula. CONSTITUTION:There is obtained a gas separating membrane having a separating function layer consisting substantially of a phenylenesulfide copolymer represented by the formula I (Ph represents phenylene group, X represents -SO2- or -CO- and m and n are natural numbers). This membrane may be of a random copolymer wherein the phenylene sulfide units in the number of m represented by -Ph-S- and the units in the number of n represented by -Ph-X- unite in random sequences or alternating copolymer wherein they unite in regularly alternate sequences. However, since the polymer, if its molecular weight is too large, becomes difficult to dissolve in a solvent and, if it is too small, becomes small in mechanical strength, m+n is set at 80-400. In this way the membrane high in performance and excellent in durability is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a hollow yarn membrane having a large quantity of gas transmission and super selectivity by coating silylated polyallylene oxide as clogging and covering material over the porous hollow fiber. CONSTITUTION:A porous hollow membrane is spun by the process known to the public. The silylated polyallylene oxide is applied to the hollow fiber as clogging and covering material. The said silylated polyallylene oxide is used in the concentration of 0.01-10wt% by utilizing a solvent giving no damage to the hollow fiber. The time of dipping is preferably shorter than 1min. The dipped hollow yarn membrane is dried, - at lease its surface is dried, by the non-contact type drier. The drying temperature is within the range of 30-100 deg.C. The said membrane can be utilized for various kinds of gas separation and concentration, particularly for oxygen enriched membrane commercially.
