    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make an unbalanced hysteresis curve different for every one cycle and to eliminate a residual magnetism by passing the alternating transient attenuating current having a relation in which the ratio of a demagnetizing frequency and a vertical deflecting frequency is not an integer to a demagnetizing coil to demagnetize. CONSTITUTION:The demagnetizing coil 14 is disposed at the prescribed position of a cone part 11 side correspondingly to a shadow mask 5 incorporated in a color image receiving tube or a magnetic member such as an internal magnetic shield body 13, an electron beam discharge from an electron gun is deflected by the horizontal and the vertical deflecting magnetic fields of a deflecting yoke 12 to scan a screen and the alternating transient attenuating current is passed to the demagnetizing coil disposed externally of the cone part to demagnetize. I this case, the hysteresis curve 32 generates the unbalance in respective cycles, the unbalanced pattern is changed for every cycle, consequently, the hysteresis curve 32 of the respective demagnetizing cycles is averaged to demagnetize with no generation of the residual magnetism as shown by a point (r).

CONSTITUTION:Out of cross sections in parallel with the Y-axis and the Z-aixs in a panel effective arear 33, the difference between wall thickness h1 on the X-axis of a cross section 52 passing through the center O of a panel and wall thickness H1 at the end section in the Y-axis direction, is smaller than the difference between wall thickness h2 on the X-axis of a section 53 in parallel with the Y-axis and the Z-axis at the midsection M in the X-axis direction and wall thickness H2 at the end section in the Y-axis direction. In addition, the difference between wall thickness h3 on the X-axis of a cross section 54 in parallel with the Y-axis and the Z-axis at the end section P of an effective diameter in the X-axis direction and wall thickness H3 at the end section in the Y-axis direction is similarly smaller than the difference between wall thickness h2 on the X-axis of the cross section 53 at the midsection and wall thickness H2 at the end section in the Y-axis direction. Namely, the difference in thickness is maximum at the midsection M. This constitution thereby can prevent effectively purity in color from being deteriorated caused by partial thermal deformation of a shadow mask 36 only by partially changing the form of a curved surface.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To check any thermal deformation in a shadow mask by making the major axial radius of curvature on an effective curved surface smaller in a side in and around a minor axis effective diameter end than the central part and making the diagonal axial end vicinity larger than the major axis effective diameter end vicinity. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask 36 tructure 32 consists of a rectangular mask frame 34 and a curved shadow mask provided with a lot of through holes, and these through holes are formed in a rectangular area 33 with a slit along a Y-axis direction in response to stripes of a fluorescent screen 30, and this area 33 serves as an effective area for image projection. With the center O of an effective curved surface as a reference point, a major axis is set to an X-axis, a minor axis to a Y-axis and the center axis to a Z-axis, respectively. An X-axial radius of curvature in the minor axis effective diameter end vicinity is made smaller than an X-axial radius of curvature in and around the central part of the effective surved surface, and an X-axial radius of curvature in and around the diagonal effective diameter end is made larger than the X-axial radius of curvature in and around the major axis effective diameter end. Thus, thermal deformation in the shadow mask is checkable.

The angle a between the tube axis and the straight line 35 connecting the end part 34 of the movable piece part 22 at the frame side to the center of the top of the stud-pin 14 is made larger than the angle beta between the tube axis and the movable piece part 22. Thereby purity drift is able to be efficiently improved for a long time without making a great change in the conventional spring component.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve reliability without heat generation of a core even at high horizontal deflection frequency, by forming a core, whose thermal radiation factor is higher than that of the core, on the surface of the core composing a deflecting device. CONSTITUTION:A deflecting device 1 for a color cathode-ray tube comprises at least the following units: a conical mold 3 made of synthetic resin such as polypropylene internally equipped with a horizontal deflecting coil 2, a toroidal core 4, and a vertical deflecting coil 5 wound around this core. This core 4 is made of ferrite, with a ceramic layer 6 formed thereon. Such formation of the ceramic layer 6 on the surface of the core 4 suppresses a rise in temperature of the core 4, making it possible to obtain the deflecting device which can be stably operated with less heat generation even at high horizontal deflection frequency.

CONSTITUTION:A material, whose main constituent is a lead borated glass or the like containing Ag, is applied by spraying or the like to the electron gun side of the shadow mask 7 of a color picture tube having an inline-type electron gun 6 and is thereafter kept at a maximum temperature of 450 to 600 deg.C in a furnace for 30min or more to crystallize the lead borate glass to provide a lowly-electroconductive layer whose temperature dependence of the reciprocal (resistivity rho) of the electric conductivity 1/rho is substantially zero or positive in a range from the room temperature to 200 deg.C. As a result, an electron beam is appropriately deflected by negative charge generated on the electron gun side of the shadow mask 7, to prevent chromatic aberration or the like from occurring due to a doming phenomenon.

Accordingly, when the shadow mask is heated through collision of electron beam, heat radiation to the frame 17 is reduced and thereby temperature difference between the center and periphery of the mask body 15 can be reduced and doming can also be eased and color shift be prevented.
