Abstract: Un procedimiento para la preparacion de politetrahidrofurano o bien de monoésteres de politetrahidrofurano de ácidos monocarboxílicos C1-C10 por medio de la polimerizacion de tetrahidrofurano en un catalizador heterogéneo en presencia de uno de los telogenos agua, 1,4-butandiol o bien politetrahidrofurano que tiene un peso molecular de 200 a 700 daltones o bien un ácido monocarboxílico C1-C10 o bien mezclas de estos telogenos, donde se emplea un catalizador soportado como catalizador, que contiene una cantidad catalíticamente activa de un compuesto de tungsteno o molibdenio que contiene oxígeno o bien mezclas de estos compuestos en un material de soporte oxido y que fue calcinado de la aplicacion de los compuestos precursores de dichos compuestos de molibdenio y/o tungsteno que contienen oxígeno sobre el precursor de material de soporte.

Abstract: The invention provides a process for preparing polytetrahydrofuran, tetrahydrofuran copolymers, their monoesters or diesters and the monoesters or diesters of polytetrahydrofuran having a low color number in the presence of a catalyst, which comprises converting crude tetrahydrofuran which has been prepared in a manner per se into pure tetrahydrofuran by distillation, subsequently subjecting the latter to essentially complete hydrogenation and using the high-purity tetrahydrofuran obtained in this way for the polymerization directly after its preparation.
