    Abstract: The screws 1' are made of a ceramic material such as zirconia and alumina, and screw threads of the screws 1' have widths at roots of the screw threads larger than widths on pitch circles in longitudinal section. Inner surfaces of the pump casing 2 confronting said screws 1' are preferably covered by liners 10 made of a ceramic material. The screw pump thus constructed is superior in wear-resistance and corrosion-resistant and suitable for transferring high pressure liquids, particularly corrosive chemical liquids and slurries containing foreign solid particles.

Through the through-hole 36, hydraulic oil at low temperature is fed into the chamber 28 to decrease a temperature of drain oil whose temperature has increased.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten heating time and to prevent excessive temperature rise by a method, wherein the position of installation of a spot heater is controlled in such a manner that soldering material is positioned about on the focal point of the spot heater. SOLUTION: A plurality of retaining devices 10 are provided on a plurality of places on the upper surface of a turntable 9, which is rotatingly driven intermittently in the clockwise direction with the vertical shaft 8, which is arranged in vertical direction, as the center. The retaining devices 10 are mechanically retained in the state in which their mounting surface is positioned horizontally directing to upward, and the turntable 9 is brought into the state where it can be moved to the diametral direction and the circumferential direction of the turn table 9. In association with the intermittent rotation of the turn table 9, a sheet of foil of brazing filler metal is placed on the surface of mounting, the foil and the brazing filler metal layer, coated on the upper surface of a silicon chip, are positioned about on the focal point, and the setting position of each spot heater 45 is controlled so as to concentrate the heat generated by the heater element to the foil and the brazing filler metal layer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve a cutting speed, prevent splashing of glass splinters generated by chipping and prevent surface flawing of the glass panel 8 by the glass splinters. CONSTITUTION:A slight volume of liquid 25 is stuck to the surface of the glass panel 8 to cover line traces 22 formed on this surface. These line traces 22 are then irradiated with a laser beam to generate thermal strains in the line trace 22 parts and to evaporate the liquid 25 advancing into a crack 26. As a result, the glass panel 8 is rapidly cut. The glass splinters are confined by the liquid 25 and are prevented from splashing to the surroundings.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To upgrade measuring work efficiency rapidly by arranging a light dispersing element in the course of an optical system while a current to a semiconductor laser is modulated to perform a displacement measurement varying a laser beam wavelength. CONSTITUTION:A beam from a semiconductor laser 1 is made to irradiate a surface 7 to be measured through a diffraction grating 3 as light dispersing element, a polarized beam splitter 4, a 1/4 wavelength plate 5 and an objective lens 6. Reflected light is divided by the objective lens 6 and a half mirror 8 and a distance to the surface 7 to be measured is measured from measured values of detectors 10a and 10b. Here, when a wavelength of a laser beam is changed with the modulation of current to the semiconductor laser 1, a spot focuses on the side separated by a distance from the center axis of an optical system. Thus, as the surface 7 to be measured is shaken from surface to back, the beam scan zig zag over a wide area efficiently, thereby enabling measurement of a flaw, a surface roughness and the like at a very high efficiency.
