    Abstract: Synthesis gas was produced by partial oxidn. of a mixt. of finely divided solid fuel (coke or coal) and a heavy residual oil in slurry form in a reactor with controlled amts. of O and steam at 1345-474≦̸C and 25atm. The gas formed and residual solids and ash were sepd. by passage through a constriction and removal of a low-solids gas as a side stream from the higher flow-rate stream thus produced.

    Abstract: The raw synthesis gas stream from the gas generator is scrubbed with water in a gas-scrubbing zone to produce a C-water dispersion. A liq. ore extractant comprising by-products from the oxo or oxyl process contg. a min. of H2O-sol. components is mixed with the C-water dispersion in a mixing zone. All of the C particles are rendered hydrophobic. In a sepg. zone the total extractant forms the C from the C-water dispersion a pumpable C-extractant dispersion contg. 0,5-5 wt.% C which is removed and treated.
