Abstract:
PURPOSE: An SNP marker associated with pork meat quality is provided to early select and grow excellent breeding pigs and to produce competitive pork. CONSTITUTION: A primer set for selecting pork of high quality is an allele specific primer(oligo1) set having a base of sequence number 1 or an allele specific primer(oligo2) having a base of sequence numbers 38-74. An SNP marker is prepared by amplifying bases of sequence numbers 1-37 by the primer set or by PCR of the primer set. A method for selecting a breeding pig with high quality comprises: a step of preparing gDNA from a pork sample; a step of performing PCR using the oligo 1 or oligo 2; a step of detecting a reactant by scanning veracode beadplate by an illumine goldengate method; and a step of detecting and classifying genotype of the scanned result using BeadStudio software(Illumina).

PURPOSE: A gene marker for evaluating meat quality and Korean Berkshire genealogy and a diagnosis method are provided to be used as a marker for consisting Korean Berkshire. CONSTITUTION: A gene marker for evaluating meat quality is used for selecting an individual with excellent meat quality. A marker of Kit I among genes for evaluating pig meat quality is used as a common selection marker. A method for selecting excellent Berkshire comprises: a step of isolating DNA from pig blood or hair roots; a step of performing multiplex PCR using the marker having MQ KIT I and MQ KIT II; a step of analyzing genotype using a Genetic analyzer by One tube-One Injection; and a step of selecting excellent pig.

A method for evaluating the quality of meat of a pig is provided to evaluate the pig meat quality conveniently and accurately by measuring an expression level of a novel collagen type I alpha-1 gene derived from Sancheong berkshire. To evaluate the quality of meat of a pig, an expression level of a collagen type I alpha-1 gene derived from Sancheong berkshire and consisting of SEQ ID : NO. 1 is measured quantitatively through RT-PCR using an oligonucleotide consisting of SEQ ID : NOs. 3 and 4 as a primer or through northern blotting using a probe consisting of SEQ ID : NO. 1.

A COXIII gene derived from Sancheong berkshire and a primer specific to the Sancheong berkshire designed from the COXIII gene are provided to identify the Sancheong berkshire accurately and conveniently within a short time and be used to develop a novel Korean min-pig based on the Sancheong berkshire. A COXIII gene derived from Sancheong berkshire consists of SEQ ID: NO. 1. A primer for identifying the Sancheong berkshire consists of SEQ ID : NO. 3 or 4. A method for identifying the Sancheong berkshire comprises the steps of: (a) obtaining cDNA or gDNA from a pig; (b) subjecting the obtained cDNA or gDNA as a template to PCR using a primer pair consisting of SEQ ID : NOs. 3 and 4; and (c) electrophoresing a reaction product obtained from the step(b) to identify a band specific to the Sancheong berkshire.
