A cDNA chip which early diagnoses a gene related to the growth, meat quality and breeding character of pig is provided to analyze the massive gene source of pig at once. A method for producing a cDNA chip which diagnoses a gene related to the growth, meat quality and breeding character of pig comprises: a step of preparing tissue sample from a tissue and blood of pig; a step of isolating RNA from the tissue sample; a step of producing cDNA library with 4,172 ESTs cloned from RNA; a step of producing a 4,200 cDNA chips containing 28 gene of beta-actin(Acc. No. DQ845171) and 18S(Acc. No. AF102857); and a step of mixing 254 gene having the significance in growth, meat quality and breeding character and 10 positive control genes to produce 264 cDNA chips.

A method for evaluating the quality of meat of a pig is provided to evaluate the pig meat quality conveniently and accurately by measuring an expression level of a novel collagen type I alpha-1 gene derived from Sancheong berkshire. To evaluate the quality of meat of a pig, an expression level of a collagen type I alpha-1 gene derived from Sancheong berkshire and consisting of SEQ ID : NO. 1 is measured quantitatively through RT-PCR using an oligonucleotide consisting of SEQ ID : NOs. 3 and 4 as a primer or through northern blotting using a probe consisting of SEQ ID : NO. 1.

A method for obtaining a specific gene for diagnosing growth and meat quality of pig comprises: a step of building a cDNA library using muscle and fat tissue of Sus scrofa, designing and analyzing cDNA microarray; a step of collecting muscle and fat from Sus scrofa and Yorkshire and making tissue sample; a step of cloning a gene from the tissue sample; a step of analyzing full-sequence; a step of isolating total RNA; a step of synthesizing first strand cDNA using superscript II reverse transcriptase; and a step of performing statistical analysis.
