    Abstract: A high performance Al alloy for extrusion is provided to find out an optimal scandium(Sc) content considering economic efficiency as well as physical properties such as hardness and microstructure of an Al alloy itself. A high performance Al alloy for extrusion is characterized in that an Al alloy having a composition comprising 0.3 wt.% of Sc is manufactured from the molten Al5083 alloy using an Al-2wt.%Sc mother alloy in a mold that is preheated to 240 deg.C after completely melting an Al5083 alloy at 710 deg.C.
