    Abstract: PURPOSE: A display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the deformation of a substrate due to sealant by mutually bonding a first substrate and a second substrate without an interposed member between the first substrate and the second substrate. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(200) is located on a first substrate(100) and displays an image. A second substrate(300) faces the first substrate while the display unit is interposed. The second substrate includes a first protrusion(310) contacted with the first substrate. The first molecules comprising the first substrate are covalently bonded with the second molecules comprising the first protrusion unit. The covalent bond between the first molecules and the second molecules is formed by Van der waals forces between the first molecules and the second molecules.
