Abstract: PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing alendronate and polyethylene glycol is provided to improve drug penetration rate. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating bone diseases contains 0.5-5 weight% of alendronate, 65-95 weight% of polyethylene glycol, and 2.5-30 weight% of steraroyl macrogolglyceride. The composition further contains 1.5-15 weight% of surfactant, 0.1-30 weight% of distilled water and 0.4-3 weight% of sodium chloride. A pharmaceutical composition is prepared by mixing alendronate, polyethylene glycol and steraroyl macrogolglyceride and dissolving at 80-100 °C.

Abstract: Compositions comprising the extract of Osmanthus heterophylla are provided to inhibit pain, acute and chronic inflammation, acute and chronic edema caused by inflammatory changes through standardization of caffeine content in the Osmanthus heterophylla extract, thereby treating or preventing inflammatory diseases. A composition for treating or preventing inflammatory diseases comprises the extract of Osmanthus heterophylla containing 0.5-5.0 wt.% of caffeine as a marker, wherein the Osmanthus heterophylla extract is prepared by (1) extracting, cooling and filtering Osmanthus heterophylla with water, alcohol or alcohol solution, (2) inducing layer separation of the filtered solution with alcohol solution, and concentrating it at 60-70 deg.C under reduced pressure, and (3) adding alcohol into the concentrate, centrifuging the mixture at 500 to 1000 rpm, and vacuum-concentrating, vacuum-drying, pulverizing and sterilizing the filtered solution; and the inflammatory diseases include arthritis and edema.
