Abstract: 본 발명은 에어백 쿠션 전개시 운전자와 에어백 쿠션의 접촉력에 의해 에어백 쿠션의 전개 형상을 변경할 수 있는 자동차용 운전석 에어백모듈에 관한 것으로, 스티어링 휠의 중앙부에 설치되는 에어백 하우징, 상기 에어백 하우징 내부에 구비되며, 자동차의 충돌시 팽창가스를 발생시키는 인플레이터, 상기 인플레이터로부터 발생된 팽창가스를 공급받아 전개되는 에어백 쿠션 및 상기 에어백 하우징의 전면을 커버하고, 상기 에어백 쿠션 전개시 파열되도록 형성되는 테어라인, 상기 테어라인의 상부를 커버하며 상기 에어백 쿠션 전개시 상기 스티어링 휠의 후방을 향해 회전운동하여 완전 전개되는 가동커버 및 상기 테어라인의 하부를 커버하며 양측으로 전개되는 한 쌍의 하부커버를 구비하는 에어백 커버를 포함하는 구성을 마련한다.
상기와 같은 자동차용 운전석 에어백모듈을 이용하는 것에 의해, 가동커버가 완전 전개됨에 따라 에어백 쿠션의 일부를 스티어링 휠 후방으로 전개시켜 에어백 쿠션의 전방 전개부피 및 전개압력을 감소시킬 수 있다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An airbag module for a driver's seat for a vehicle is provided to minimize impact applied to a driver since a movable cover is completely opened and a part of an airbag cushion is spread to the read of a steering wheel. CONSTITUTION: An airbag module(10) for a driver's seat for a vehicle comprises a housing(20), an inflator(30), a cushion(40) and a cover. The housing is installed on the center of a steering wheel(2). The inflator generates inflation gas in collision of a vehicle. The cushion is spread by inflation gas supplied from the inflator. The cover comprises a tear line, a movable cover(53) and lower covers(54,55). The tear line is ruptured when the cushion is spread. The movable cover covers up the top of the tear line. The movable cover rotates to the rear of the steering wheel and is completely spread when the cushion is spread. The lower covers cover the lower parts of the tear line and are spread to both sides.
