Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for testing the friction between a piston ring and a liner is provided to accurately evaluate by smoothly transferring a die unit so that a piston ring sample evenly rubs on a cylinder liner sample. CONSTITUTION: A device for testing the friction between a piston ring and a liner comprises a die unit(1) in which a cylinder liner sample(4) is placed with a curved surface facing upward, a moving unit(2) which is located on the upper side of the cylinder liner sample to grip a piston ring sample(5) and reciprocate the piston ring sample in the direction perpendicular to the curved surface of the cylinder liner sample, and a load unit(3) which presses the upper side of the moving unit to apply a load to the piston ring sample.
