Abstract: PURPOSE: A kickback-preventing device of a power steering system is provided to prevent kickback by sensing a back current of oil caused by sudden impact, through a gear linkage and constraining a steering column. CONSTITUTION: A power steering system comprises a steering column(2), connected with a steering wheel(1) of a driver's seat and a gear linkage(4), controlling the flowing of oil supplied from an oil pump to a hydraulic cylinder(6) according to rotation of the steering column by rotation of the steering wheel. A kickback-preventing device of the power steering system comprises a back current-sensing unit, installed at an oil input port of the gear linkage and a column-constraining unit(200), installed at the steering column. The back current-sensing unit senses that oil flows backward from the hydraulic cylinder to the oil input port. The column constrains rotation of the steering column when the back current-sensing unit senses a back current of oil. Therefore, the steering column and steering wheel are rotated though oil flows backward by kickback and the stability during driving is improved.
