    Abstract: PURPOSE: A spare tire mounting device is provided to easily install a spare tire by making a spare tire carrier move to the rear portion of a vehicle via a four-link structure and to prevent the collision of the carrier and the ground by using a damping unit. CONSTITUTION: A spare tire mounting device comprises a carrier(54) installed at a rear bumper(B') of a vehicle body(50) to hang a spare tire(52), a fixing unit installed between the carrier and the vehicle body to prevent the displacement of the carrier, and a link unit(60) to move the carrier toward the rear portion of the carrier when the fixing unit is separated from the carrier. The fixing unit consists of a fixing hook(56a) and a nut(56b) to fix the fixing hook on the vehicle body. The link unit includes a damping member(66) to prevent the breakage of the carrier. For removing the spare tire from the carrier, the fixing hook is removed from the carrier. Then, the carrier moves downward by the gravity. Thereby, the spare tire is removed easily.
