Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a new amphipathic straight-chain surfactin exhibiting large surface-active action, having water soluble property or oil soluble property according to pH and useful as a extracting agent for biological substances, a biosurfactant and a surfactant, etc. CONSTITUTION: This straight-chain surfactin is expressed by formula I. Furthermore, the straight-chain surfactin of formula I is obtained by charging, e.g. a cycloheptapeptide type surfactin of formula II into a glass bottle having a lid, adding 2N NH4 OH thereto, allowing the surfactin to stand at 37 deg.C for 4 days, further blowing nitrogen gas thereinto to remove ammonia, adding diethyl ether thereto to remove a soluble part, distilling diethyl ether away and drying the residue under reduced pressure.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the hyper thin film composed of an inclusion compd. of cyclodextrin and an org. molecule by incorporating a specific cyclodextrin derivative to the titled film. CONSTITUTION:The hyper thin film of the inclusion compd. of the cyclodextrin and the dye is formed by synthesizing a molecule which contains the cyclodextrin part as a hydrophilic group and a long chain hydrocarbon group as a hydrophobic group by substituting the primary alcohol part of the cyclodextrin with a functional group contg. the long chain hydrocarbon group, and by mixing an azo dye and said molecule in an org. solvent, and by spreading the obtd. mixture on the surface of water to form a stable monomolecular film composed of the cyclodextrin and the dye and the inclusion compd. thereof, and subsequently laminating said monomolecular film on a substrate. The hydrophobic group and the hydrophilic group which have an appropriate molecular volume and strength, and the balance thereof are important as the cyclodextrin derivative in order to form the stable monomolecular film on the surface of water. Said cyclodextrin derivative is shown by formula I wherein R is >=8C long chain hydrocarbon group, (n) is an integer of >=6.
