Abstract:
A method for implementing mobile device-initiated inter-radio access technology (I-RAT) handovers between networks includes a wireless device communicating with a first network using an internet protocol (IP) address that was received from the first network during an initial attachment procedure. The wireless device may initiate an I-RAT handover procedure to connect to a second wireless network using a configuration message that includes a handover attach type. Once the connection with the second network is established, the wireless device may receive the information from the second wireless network using the same IP address. The wireless device may force the wireless device into dormancy and prevent data transfer, and initiate another I-RAT handover procedure to upgrade and connect to the first network, by sending an attach request message that includes a handover attach type.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and apparatus for a user equipment to mitigate interference in a wireless charging state. The user equipment may determine when the user equipment enters a wireless charging state and, when the user equipment enters the wireless charging state, activate an interference mitigation. The user equipment may further determine when the UE exits the wireless charging state and, when the user equipment exits the wireless charging state, deactivate the interference mitigation.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) device may communicate according to at least two telecommunication standards. The UE may generate a second preferred roaming list based on a first preferred roaming list. The first preferred roaming list may indicate geographic locations which support a first telecommunication standard, of which some may also support a second telecommunication standard. The second preferred roaming list may indicate geographic locations which support only the first telecommunication standard and may also indicate geographic locations which support both the first telecommunication standard and the second telecommunication standard. The second preferred roaming list may be used to perform roaming, which may facilitate the UE avoiding searching for the second telecommunication standard in geographic locations which support only the first telecommunication standard.
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed relating to handover of WLAN voice calls to one or more cellular networks. In some embodiments, a device is configured to perform voice communications over one or more wireless local area networks, communicate with a first network using a first cellular radio access technology (RAT), and communicate with a second network using a second cellular RAT. The device may store, based on communications via the first network, information indicating that the first network does not support voice communications for the apparatus. The device may handover a voice call from a wireless local network directly to the second cellular RAT, based on the stored information and without handover of the voice call to the first cellular RAT, based on call conditions on the wireless local area network.
Abstract:
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.
