Abstract:
The invention relates to a curable moulding composition having a coherent phase of a free-radical-curable unsaturated polyester resin in which finely divided polyolefin particles are dispersed as the disperse phase, where the two phases are chemically bonded to one another at the interfaces by ionic bonds.
Abstract:
Ethylene copolymers (I) useful as flow improver for petroleum middle distillate (PMD) consists of: (IA) (a) 50-94 wt.% ethylene (II), (b) 3-30 wt.% vinyl 2-6C monocarboxylate(s) (III), (c) 3-20 wt.% aminoalkyl acrylates of formula (IV) and (d) 0-10 wt.% comonomer(s) (V); or (IB) (a') 50-95.5 wt.% (II), (b') 4-30 wt.% (III), (c') 0.5-20 wt.% vinyl-imidazole(s) of formula (VI) or 0.5-20 wt.% aminoalkyl vinyl ether(s) of formula (VII) and (d') 0-10 wt.% (V): R1 = H or Me; R2-6, R9-11 = H or 1-6C alkyl; R7,R8 - 1-6C alkyl; A1 = 2-10C alkylene; A2 = 2-6C ethylene. The claims exclude (1A) in which (III) is vinyl acetate (IIIA) and Mn = 5000-5000. The claims cover the use of (I), esp. with Mw = 500-5000, as additive for PMD and PMD contg. effective amts. of (I).
Abstract:
Thermomechanical degradation of polyolefin(s) is carried out in a twin-screw extruder without the use of any additional degradation appts., at 300-500 degrees C and 1-100 bar over a mean dwell time of 0.5-10 min., during which the pressure is (a)periodically altered by 0.5-30 bar. Low molecular wt. polyolefin waxes prepd. by this method are also claimed.
