Abstract: The invention relates to a continuous method for producing a hydrogen peroxide solution in a medium that comprises a water-miscible organic solvent, by reacting hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of an inert gas, the gas flow being circulated and the hydrogen and oxygen only being supplemented in the form of pure gases as they are consumed. The invention further relates to the use of the solution so produced in the epoxidation of olefins.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of phosphonomethylglycine in which N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid N-oxide is brought into contact with a catalytically active quantity of at least one catalyst, selected from amongst a thionyl halide, ammonium dithionite or an alkali metal dithionite, a dialkyl sulfite, sulfur dichloride, sulfur dioxide and sulfurous acid, in a reaction chamber by metering the N-phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid N-oxide into the reaction chamber in such a way that always at least 50% of the N-oxide metered into the reaction chamber are converted.

Abstract: The invention relates to a supported catalyst consisting of metal of the platinum group. Said catalyst can be obtained by means of controlled electroless deposition of at least one metal of the platinum group from a precipitation solution containing i) at least one homogeneously dissolved compound consisting of metal of the platinum group, ii) a reducing agent, an d iii) at least one collagen selected from iospoly acids and heteropoly acids of niobium, tantalum, molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium or the salts of the sam e. The invention also relates to a method for hydrogenating inorganic or organi c compounds using the catalyst which is produced by means of controlled electroless deposition, especially for the direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide.
