Abstract:
The invention relates to aqueous slurries of fine-particulate fillers, at least partly coated with polymers and which may be obtained by treatment of aqueous slurries of fine-particulate fillers with at least one binder for paper coating inks, production of the aqueous slurries and use thereof for the production of paper comprising fillers, card comprising fillers and cardboards comprising fillers, by means of draining the pulp.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing paper, paperboard and cardboard in the presence of an aqueous suspension of components containing fine-particles of filler material. The fine-particle filler materials are covered at least partially with water-soluble amphoteric copolymers. Said method consists in adding to the fibre suspension, prior to the formation of the sheet, and in addition to the aqueous suspension of components containing fine-particles filler material, at least one cationic and/or amphoteric polymer which, as a structural element, does not contain any ester unsaturated carboxylic acids with quaternised amino alcohols.
Abstract:
A process for the production of paper, board and cardboard by draining a paper stock containing interfering substances in the presence of polymers which contain vinylamine units and which have an average molar mass Mw of at least 1 million, a high-consistency stock first being prepared, at least one polymer containing vinylamine units and having an average molar mass Mw of at least 1 million and a degree of hydrolysis of from 1 to 20 mol % being metered into the high-consistency stock, the high-consistency stock being diluted to a low-consistency stock by adding water, and the low-consistency stock being drained, the polymers being hydrolyzed homo- or copolymers of N-vinylcarboxamides additives for reducing deposits in the wire part, press section and drying section of paper machines.
Abstract:
Aqueous slurries of finely divided fillers which are at least partly coated with polymers and which are obtainable by treating aqueous slurries of finely divided fillers with at least one water-soluble amphoteric copolymer whose structures are identified in the specification are used as an additive to the paper stock in the production of filler-containing paper, filler-containing cardboard or filler-containing board by draining of the paper stock.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing crêped paper by gluing a paper web to a crêping cylinder with the aid of an adhesive. Said adhesive consists of: (i) a polyethylene imine with a molar mass Mw of between 50,000 and 2 million, (ii) products of a reaction between polyethylene imine with a molar mass Mw of between 500 and 1 million and at least one C14 to C22 alkyldiketene, a monocarboxylic acid, a monocarboxylic acid ester or a monocarboxylic acid chloride and/or (iii) products of a reaction between polyalkylene polyamines with a molar mass of between 300 and 1 million and at least one dichlorohydrin ether or diglycidyl ether of a polyalkylene glycol with a molar weight M N of between 300 and 3000. The paper is then compressed and the crêped paper is removed. The invention also relates to the use of the adhesives (i) to (iii) as auxiliary agents in the crêping process.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an aqueous composition comprising at least one fine-particle filler and at least one water-soluble amphoteric copolymer. The invention also relates to a method for producing a composition of this type and to the use thereof as an additive in the production of paper, card and cardboard.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for producing paper, board and cardboard of high dry strength by separately adding a polymer comprising vinylamine units and a polymeric anionic compound to a paper pulp, dewatering the pulp and drying the paper products, which comprises using as polymeric anionic compound at least one copolymer obtainable by copolymerizing (a) at least one N-vinylcarboxamide of the formula in which R1 and R2 are H or C1- to C6 alkyl, (b) at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer comprising acid groups, and/or the alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salts thereof, and if appropriate (c) other monoethylenically unsaturated monomers, and if appropriate (d) compounds having at least two ethylenically unsaturated double bonds in their molecule.
Abstract:
A decrease in the amount of esterase-splittable adhesive components of coextensive diameter up to 2000 mu in scrap paper suspensions is achieved contacting an esterase with a scrap paper suspension containing more than 0.5 wt.% (based on oven-dry paper weight) of at least one nonionic and non-polymeric surfactant.
