The invention relates to a method for producing a supported catalyst for the polymerization of olefins. Said method is characterized in that one or more compounds of the general formula (Ia) or (Ib) are deposited onto a porous supporting material that is devoid of water, together with a molecularly defined activator of the general formulas (IIa) to (IIc), (IIa): [(L-H)]+[(M')Q Q Q Q ]-; (IIb): [(CAr3)]+[(M')Q Q Q Q ]-; (IIc): [(M')Q Q Q ] and optionally an additional compound which can be used as a catalytically active component for the polymerization of olefins.
