Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyamines having various different characteristics and relatively high amine values by as many methods as possible. SOLUTION: This polyamine polymer is obtd. by reacting a carbon monoxide-1-alkane (pref. ethylene) linear alternating copolymer with ammonia or an amine represented by R-NH2 (wherein R is NH2 , OH, 1-10C alkyl, 6-20C aryl, 7-20C aralkyl, 7-20C alkaryl, or a 3-30C organosilicon group) or with a reagent which releases ammonia or the above-mentioned amine and then hydrogenating the resultant product.

Abstract: A process for preparing formic acid by thermal cleavage of quaternary ammonium formates of the general formula I (* CHEMICAL STRUCTURE *) (I) where R1, R2 and R3 are C1- to C14-alkyl, C3- to C8-cycloalkyl, aryl or C7- to C16-aralkyl, or together are 1,4- or 1,5-alkylene which is unsubstituted or substituted one to four times by C1-to C4-alkyl, with the proviso that the sum of the carbon atoms of R1, R2 and R3 in the quaternary ammonium formates I is 7 to 40, comprises carrying out the cleavage in the presence of secondary formamides of the general formula II (* CHEMICAL STRUCTURE *) (II) where R4 and R5 are C2- to C10-alkyl, C3- to C8-cycloalkyl, aryl or C7- to C16-aralkyl, or together are 1,4- or 1,5-alkylene which is unsubstituted or substituted one to four times by C1- to C4-alkyl, which formamides boil 30 degrees to 150 degrees C. lower than the tertiary amine of the general formula III (* CHEMICAL STRUCTURE *) (III) where R1, R2 and R3 have the abovementioned meanings, contained in the formate I.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing 3-pentenic acid esters by carbonylation of alkoxybutenes in the presence of a catalyst and solvent at elevated temperatures and pressures. The invented preparation process is characterized by reacting at least one alkoxybutene containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alkoxy moiety and in allyl position to a double bond with carbon monoxide at a temperature ranging from 60 to 140 degC and under partial pressure of carbon monoxide within the range of 3 to 30 MPa in the presence of a catalyst based on palladium and an ingredient being selected from the group comprising chlorides, acids, nitrogen-containing ligands and phosphorus-containing ligands at molar ration of the ingredient to the catalyst of 0.1 to 10.
