    Abstract: Process for the preparation of 3-aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamine from 3-cyano-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanone by carrying out the following steps in two reaction spaces spatially separated from one another: a) reacting the 3-cyano-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanone in a first reaction space with excess ammonia over acid metal oxide catalysts at temperatures of 20 to 150 DEG C and pressures of 15 to 500 bar and b) hydrogenating the reaction products formed in a second reaction space with hydrogen in the presence of excess ammonia over cobalt-, nickel-, ruthenium- and/or other noble metal-containing catalysts which may contain basic components or are present on neutral or basic supports at temperatures of 60 to 150 DEG C and pressures of 50 to 300 bar.

    Abstract: A process for the recovery of caprolactam from oligomers and/or polymers of caprolactam, which comprises the following steps: a) treatment of oligomers and/or polymers of caprolactam with from 1 to 20 parts by weight of water per part by weight of oligomer and/or polymer at a temperature of from 200 to 350 DEG C under superatmospheric pressure at a residence time of from 0.5 to 10 hours with formation of an aqueous reaction mixture containing polycaprolactam, monomeric caprolactam and oligomers thereof, and b) passing the aqueous reaction mixture obtained in a) into an aluminium oxide fluidised bed at a temperature of from 250 to 400 DEG C to give a mixture of steam and caprolactam.

    Abstract: In the present invention there is described a process for preparing aminopropionitriles of the general formula I, in which R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, by reacting ammonia with acrylonitrile of the general formula II, in which the substituent R is as defined above. The proposed preparation process is characterized in that reaction is carried out at molar ration of the reaction components of ammonia and acrylonitrile ranging from 1:1 to 500:1 on an oxide of element being selected from the second and/or the third and/or the fourth principal group of the Periodic System of Elements, from the second through the sixth auxiliary groups of the Periodic System of Elements, acid zeolite, phosphate and/or heteropolyacid or a mixture thereof, as on a heterogeneous catalyst at a temperature ranging from 40 to 180 degC and pressure in the range of 1.0 to 35.0 MPa.
