    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more improve various performance characteristics of a thermoplastic binder, particularly the strength of a molded product produced therefrom as compared with that of the conventional corresponding products thereof. SOLUTION: A method for producing a polymer aqueous dispersion is provided. The polymer aqueous dispersion comprises an emulsion polymer, a polymer composed of at least 5 mass% of an ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid anhydride (abbreviated to an acid polymer SP) and an alkoxysilane represented by the formula SiR R R R [wherein, groups R to R denote each mutually independently an organic group and at least one of the groups denotes an alkoxy group]. The method for production is characterized by producing the emulsion polymer in the presence of at least a small amount of the alkoxysilane by an emulsion polymerization.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new mesoporous silica having respectively specific surface area and volume of the mesopores and useful as a molded article, a catalyst or a catalyst carrier by converting a silica precursor in a water-containing reaction medium containing a polymer dispersion liquid. SOLUTION: The mesopore of this mesoporous silica has a specific surface area of >=500m /g and a volume of >=1.0mL/g. The maximum size of the pare diameter distribution of the mesopore is preferably >=3nm. The obtained silica is preferably baked. The polymer dispersion liquid is preferably a cationic aqueous polymer dispersion liquid stabilized with a cationic emulsifier and/or a cationic comonomer (emulsifying agent or α,β-ethylenic unsaturated monomer having quaternary amine or ammonium structure). These emulsified polymers can be produced preferably by using a free-radical polymerization initiator having a cationic group.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the application of microcapsules I with one or more lipophilic substances as core material. The invention also relates to novel microcapsules Ia, spray-dried microcapsules Ia', methods for the production thereof, and to shaped bodies and coating masses containing said microcapsules.
