Abstract: The materials or textiles contg. these fibres admixed with other fibres, are dyed, by the exhaust or pad-steam method, in the presence of the usual assistants and oxidants inhibiting the reductive degradation of the dyestuff. In this process, the bath contains 0.01-2, pref 0.06-0.3 g/l nitrite ions, as oxidant (corresponding to 0.1-0.5 g/l NaNO2 or KNO2). The use of nitrite ions significantly improves the dyestuff yield and ensures reproducible results.

Abstract: A process for removing oligomer deposits from dyed and non-dyed textile materials which consist of polyester fibers or of blends of these fibers with other fibers, and from dyeing machinery, by a treatment with an aqueous, alkaline liquor which contains from 0.1 to 10 g/l of a quaternary ammonium compound carrying not less than two C6-C22-alkyl or -alkenyl groups on the quaternary nitrogen, at up to 100 DEG C. The oligomers are hydrolyzed and are removed together with the treatment liquor.

Abstract: A post-treatment agent (I) comprises a mixt. of (a) 50-90 pts.wt. adducts of 3-8 moles ethylene oxide (EO) and 1 mole 12-16C aliphatic oxy-alcohols, (b) 2-15 pts.wt. adducts of 6-14 moles propylene oxide (PO) and 1 mole 8-12C oxy-alcohols, (c) 2-15 pts.wt. 4-19C mono-alkyl orthophosphate and (d) 5-45 pts.wt. adducts of 8-16 moles EO and 3-9 moles PO with 1 mole 11-17C oxy-alcohols. Also claimed is a process for washing dispersion-dyed textiles based on polyester or polyester mixts. using aq. solns. contg. 0.2-5 g/l (I), at 20-120 deg.C. and pH 4-14. Pref., (a) are commercially available adducts fo 13-15C oxy-alcohols with 3-7 EO, (b) are adducts of 9-11C oxy-alcohols and 6-14 PO, (c) is a 6-12C monoalkyl phosphate and (d) are adducts of 13-15C fatty alcohols with 8-16 EO and 3-9 PO. Washing conditions are 60-105 deg.C. and pH 6-11. USE/ADVANTAGE - For colours and prints from dispersion dyes on textile materials. (I) is upto 90% biodegradable, does not foam in aq. washing baths at 10-100 deg.C. and has excellent emulsion stability and washing action; unfixed dispersion dyes are washed out and redn. - sensitive dyes such as reactive dyes and metal complex dyes are practically unaffected, so that (I) can be used even with polyester/cotton mix

Abstract: Process for aftertreating dyed or printed textile materials made of polyester fibres, polyester/ôcellulose fibre blends, cellulose triacetate fibres or cellulose triacetate/ôcellulose fibre blends by dyeing or printing the polyester fibres and the cellulose triacetate fibres with disperse dyes based on azo compounds and the cellulose fibres with the dyes customary therefor, reduction clearing as usual, then applying to the textile material a polymeric compound (I) which contains units where R is H, CH3, C2H5 or aryl and a catalyst based on an organic metal compound which is a curing agent for the compounds (I), and treating the textile material at temperatures from 100 to 220 DEG C.
