    Abstract: A redispersible polymer powder is prepared by spray drying, freezedrying or precipitation of a monomer emulsion of a vinyl aromatic, unsaturated carboxylic acid, acrylic and/or methacrylic nitrile, amide and/or ester derivative in the presence of a sulfosuccinic acid derivative and anionic and non-ionic emulsifier. A redispersible polymer powder (I) contains at least 70 wt.% of a copolymer (II) obtained by spray or freeze drying or by precipitation, by addition of water soluble solvents or salts from an aqueous dispersion of the copolymer (II). The aqueous dispersion of (II) is obtained by radical copolymerisation of (A) a monomer mixture of (A1) 2-50 wt.% of an 8-12C vinyl aromatic, (A2) 5-40 wt.% of a 3-8C olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or a corresponding anhydride, (A3) 15-90 wt.% of a nitrile, amide and/or ester of an acrylic and/or methacrylic acid having 1-18C in the alcohol, and (A4) 0-20 wt.% of a further copolymerisable olefinically unsaturated monomer, whereby the total monomer content corresponds to 0.1-10 wt.% of (B) an emulsifier mixture comprising (B1) a sulfosuccinic acid derivative of formula (1), (B2) 0.1-10 parts weight (pts. wt.) (per pt. wt. of B1) of a further anionic emulsifier, and (B3) 0-10 pts. wt. (per pt. wt. of B1) of a nonionic emulsifier). M = an alkali metal or N(R )4; R = H, 1-4C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; X, Y = O-(CnH2nO)mR or NHR or one of X or Y may be OM; R = 6-18C alkyl or alkenyl, 5-8C cycloalkyl, (1-12C alkyl)aryl and/or phenyl; n = 2-4; and m = 0-30.

    Abstract: A process is disclosed for preparing ethylene polymers with a molecular weight Mw (weight average) lower than 20,000 g/mole at temperatures in a range from 200 to 280 DEG C and pressures in a range from 1000 to 3500 bars in the presence of a catalyst system. The catalyst system used contains: (A) a non-bridged substituted or unsubstituted biscyclopentadienyl complex; (B) a metal compound of general formula (I) M (R )r (R )s (R )t, in which M is an alkaline, an alkaline earth metal or a metal of the third main group of the periodic table; R is hydrogen, C1-C10-alkyl, C6-C15-aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl with 1 to 10 C atoms in the alkyl radical and 6 to 20 C atoms in the aryl radical; R and R independently represent hydrogen, halogen, C1-C10-alkyl, C6-C15-aryl, alkylaryl, arylalkyl or alkoxy with 1 to 10 C atoms in the alkyl radical and 6 to 20 C atoms in the aryl radical; r is an integer from 1 to 3; and s and t are integers from 0 to 2, the sum r+s+t corresponding to the valency of M ; and (C) a metallocene ion-forming compound selected in a group which consists of strong, neutral Lewis acids, ionic compounds with lewis acid cations and ionic compounds with Brönsted acids as cations. Components (A), (B) and (C) are mixed together and after at the latest 5 minutes are dosed in the reactor.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the use, for coating or sealing panes of laminated safety glass, of polymers of: A) 30 to 90 wt.% ethylene; B) 0 to 10 wt.% of other alpha -olefines with 2 to 12 C atoms which may also carry halogen atoms; C) 3 to 40 wt.% of one or more acrylic or methacrylic acid esters in which the ester radical consists of C1 to C20 alkyl, C5 to C18 cycloalkyl or C7 to C18 aralkyl, in which said ester radical may also bear halogen atoms; D) 7 to 30 wt.% acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid; and E) 0 to 10 wt.% of further copolymerisable monomers.
