Abstract: An environmentally appropriate protective covering for articles, in particular rectangular parallelepipedal bodies, comprises a container receiving the article or rectangular parallelepipedal body, if appropriate is of a rectangular parallelepipedal form and is closed by means of an at least three-part, partly separable closure strip. For opening, the central part is separated from the side parts, which remain on the container. The presence or absence of the central part consequently represents an indication of originality. The closure strip can also be used advantageously in the case of a protective covering unit, comprising a plurality of stacked containers, for connecting and forming a pack. The invention can be used advantageously in any application where a single closure strip can be used to economize on outer packaging materials.

Abstract: A compact magnetic tape cassette has, at the front of its top and bottom surfaces, raised housing parts to receive at least one playback/recording head. At the junction between a raised part and the planar top or bottom surface, the cassette has ribs 47, 49 which preserve or continue the outer profile of the raised part. The ribs are said to avoid thermal stress at the junction upon heating, and thus avoid distortion of tape guides within the cassette. The rib may be replaced by ribs extending the length of the cassette (Fig. 5), or by cylindrical nubs (55, Fig. 7), or by separate parts bonded or mechanically fixed to the cassette, or by a part connected by a film hinge. The cassette housing can be made from fracture-resistant, or electrically conducting, plastics, or from magnetically shielding metal.

Abstract: An article pack of stacked articles (K1 - K3) comprises at least one adhesive strip (5, 6) which does not have a line of weakness or tear lines and which is provided over at least the narrow sides of the stack. Each article has an individual marking so positioned so that in the stack only one marking is on the outside. This marking is covered by at least on of the adhesive strips. The material as well as being opaque or transparent is recyclable and corresponds as far as possible to other packaging material of the articles. A gripping aid may be provided to facilitate the largely non-destructive pulling off of the adhesive strips for individually separating the articles. The pack can be used for all rectangularly or parallelepiped shaped articles such as cuboids, cubes, packaged disks etc.
