Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a process for electrochemically whitening a tooth, the process comprising: a) contacting the tooth with a whitening gel that is located in a dental device, the dental device comprising a positive electrode and a negative electrode; b) flowing a current between the positive electrode and the negative electrode through the whitening gel to whiten the tooth; wherein the whitening gel comprises: water; a bleaching agent; a thickener composition comprising a non-ionic compound; a surfactant; and an electrolyte source comprising a first conductive salt. The invention is also directed to a conductive tooth whitening gel and a tooth whitening kit.
Abstract:
This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising a first source of stannous, a second source of stannous, wherein the second source of stannous contains stannous pyrophosphate, and a zinc source selected from the group consisting of: zinc oxide, zinc citrate, zinc lactate, and combinations thereof, as well as to methods of using and of making these compositions.
Abstract:
This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising a basic amino acid in free or salt from (e.g., free form arginine); zinc oxide and zinc citrate; and a fluoride source comprising stannous fluoride.
Abstract:
A process for electrochemically whitening a tooth, the process including: a) contacting the tooth with a whitening gel having a first pH, the whitening gel located in a dental device comprising a positive electrode and a negative electrode; b) flowing a current between the positive electrode and the negative electrode through whitening gel to whitening the tooth such that the whitening gel transitions from the first pH to a second pH; c) irradiating the tooth with light emitted from a light source present on the dental device; wherein the whitening gel comprises a peroxide source; an electrolyte source; and wherein the second pH is greater than the first pH.
Abstract:
This invention relates to oral care compositions comprising a first source of zinc which is zinc citrate, a second source of zinc which is zinc oxide or zinc lactate, a stannous ion source, and a polyphosphate, as well as to methods of using and of making these compositions.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a gum system for oral care compositions, where the oral care composition comprises a first stannous ion source, a second stannous ion source, wherein the second stannous ion comprises stannous pyrophosphate, and a source of zinc selected from zinc oxide, zinc citrate, zinc lactate, and combinations thereof, and a gum system comprising hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) and carrageenan, as well as to methods of using and making these compositions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an oral care composition for use in the treatment or prevention of erosive tooth demineralization, plaque, and caries. This oral care composition includes zinc lactate dihydrate, a stannous ion source, at least one phosphate salt, and a buffer system.
Abstract:
Provided are aqueous soluble tin phosphate complexes formed from a mixture comprising tin (II) fluoride and a pyrophosphate salt and oral care compositions comprising the complexes and uses thereof.
