Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain low bulk density and high activity by making the titled catalyst have a hollowly formed body. SOLUTION: This metallic catalyst has a hollowly formed body and preferably a hollow sphere. This catalyst particle has 0.5-20 mm diameter and 0.1-5 mm wall thickness. The jacket of the catalyst particle is impermeable or has up to 80% open porosity and consists of various layers and/or layered metals. The metallic catalyst of a hollow sphere shape shows high activity in general. The production method of this metallic catalyst comprises spraying of metallic powder, optionally together with a binder, onto a formed body made of an inflammable material, i.e., polystyrene foam (styrofoam) and burning the inflammable material to obtain a hollow body. As one kind of the metallic powder, an alloy to be rapidly cooled or an alloy to be slowly cooled is used. The alloy comprises one or more catalyst metals such as nickel, an alkali-soluble component such as aluminum and one or more co-catalyst elements such as Cr.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high activity by preliminarily producing metal alloy fibers and/or metal alloy flocks by a crucible metal extraction method, subsequently making them into tablets, pressing them into a mat and/or filling a cartridge with them. SOLUTION: A rapidly cooled material having a controllable shape is obtained by the crucible melting/extracting method, i.e., the method to use a rectangular crucible and a water-cooling copper-made rotary wheel having notches specially formed on the surface of the crucible. The metal alloy flocks or the metal alloy fibers having fixed length and diameter are obtained as the final product according to the design of the notches of the rotary wheel. Subsequently the cartridge is filled with these flocks and/or fibers and they are activated with caustic soda solution. Or these flocks and/or fibers are made into tablets and/or pressed into a mat, optionally using a binder such as nickel powder, which are then calcinated in the air and activated with caustic soda solution.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as an intermediate or the like for producing a blood pressure regulator by posttreating a crude substance from a production process for a specific N-substituted-L-lysyl-L-proline with liquid or supercritical CO2 . SOLUTION: A crude substance from a production process for a 1-[N2-((S)- ethoxycarbonyl)-3-phenylpropyl)-N6-trifluoroacetyl]-L-lysyl-L-proline (LPE) in which the LPE is enriched and present is precharged into an extraction container C and supercritical CO2 or liquid CO2 prepared by making liquid CO2 flow from a collection container D to a pump P1 , compressing the liquid CO2 to an extraction pressure and heating the compressed liquid CO2 to an extraction temperature with a heat exchanger E1 is fed to the extraction container C to dissolve an extractible substance in the CO2 during the passage thereof through the extraction container C. The CO2 loaded with the dissolved substance is then led to a separator S and the pressure or temperature or both are changed to deposit the extracted substance. Thereby, the LPE which is an intermediate for an inhibitor of angiotensin converting enzymes effectively useful as a blood pressure regulator is obtained in a short time.
