Abstract: In a spark plug (100), an annular seal packing (2) is arranged in a gap (1) defined between an insulator (20) and a fitting (10). Electrically insulating oil (4) is filled in an oil-retaining section of the gap (1) that is located on the distal side of the packing (2). The oil-retaining section of the gap (1) is the continuous section having a width (W1) ranging from 0.05 mm to 0.3 mm and an axial length (L1) of 2 mm or more from the packing (2). The filled insulating oil (4) is retained within the oil-retaining section of the gap (1) by its surface tension while it is in a liquid state.

Abstract: Lead free glaze for coating ceramic materials contains 16-49 weight % SiO2, 15-35 weight % B2O3, 0-10 weight % Al2O3 and 0-10 weight % ZnO. The glaze can also include oxide(s) of calcium, barium and magnesium, also oxide(s) zirconium and bismuth and at least one of oxide(s) of lithium, sodium or potassium. Independent claims are also included for: a spark plug having the surface of an insulator coated with a lead free glaze and fired; and production of a spark plug by coating the lead free glaze onto the insulator (1) surface, inserting an electrode (2) into a hole (10) of the insulator and heating to simultaneously fire the lead free glaze and seal the part.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark plug with a simple structure, which can hold insulation oil for preventing stains of an insulator in the gap between the insulator and a mounting bracket and which can maintain the stain-proof effect of the insulation oil for a long time. SOLUTION: In the gap 1 between the insulator 20 and the mounting bracket 10, a ring-shaped seal-packing 2 is arranged, and in the position nearer to the terminal part 1 of the mounting bracket 10 than the packing 2 in the gap 1, insulation oil 4 is filled. The portion filled with the insulation oil 4 in the gap 1 has a width W1 of 0.05 to 0.3 mm and is continuously arranged so that its axial length L1 starting from the packing 2 may be 2 mm or more. The insulation oil 4 thus filled can be held in the gap 1 by its own surface tension in a liquid condition.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a housing by vibration of an internal combustion engine in an ignitor for the internal combustion engine storing and integrating an ignition plug and an ignition coil in one housing.
SOLUTION: A non-screw part 12 is provided in a mounting hole 201 of a cylinder head 200 and on an anti-combustion chamber side more than a male screw part 11 among outer peripheral faces of the housing 1 and is brought into contact with an inner peripheral face of the mounting hole 201. Since an end part on the anti-combustion chamber side in the non-screw part 12 becomes a boundary part between a fixing part and a non-fixing part, outside diameter of the boundary part is enlarged and wall thickness of the housing in the boundary part is increased more than that of a conventional housing to improve strength of the boundary part.
