Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microemulsion stable even in the presence of a salt. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) a silicone component being an oil-in-water aqueous microemulsion containing a polysiloxane stabilized with a cationic surfactant in the microemulsion and (B) an inorganic salt and an organic salt. The polysiloxane in the cationic microemulsion has a particle size of 100 nm or below, desirably, 40 nm or below. The polysiloxane is desirably a polydimethylsiloxane or an amine-functional polysiloxane prepared by emulsion polymerization. It is desirable that the composition contains at least 20 wt.% salt.

Abstract: Silicone primer compositions comprising the reaction product of a resinous copolymeric siloxane and an organosilane are disclosed. The compositions find particular utility in promoting the adhesion of curable silicone coating compositions, comprising a liquid copolymeric organopolysiloxane and a polydiorganosiloxane, to solid substrates. Priming metal substrates with the certain compositions of the present invention additionally imparts improved corrosion resistance thereto when the substrates are subsequently coated with the above mentioned silicone coating compositions.

Abstract: A composition is disclosed that contains (A) a silicone component which is an aqueous oil-in-water microemulsion containing a polysiloxane stabilized in the microemulsion by a cationic surfactant, and (B) an inorganic salt or an organic salt. The polysiloxane in the cationic microemulsion has a particle diameter of less than 100 nanometer, preferably less than 40 nanometer. The polysiloxane is a polydimethylsiloxane or an amine functional polysiloxane, preferably prepared by emulsion polymerization. The composition preferably contains at least twenty percent by weight of the salt.

Abstract: Emulsions containing particles of an organopolysiloxane with an average particle diameter of less than 100 nanometer are prepared by (i) adding a polyfunctional silane to an aqueous medium containing a nonionic surfactant, an anionic or cationic surfactant and a catalyst; (ii) allowing the polyfunctional silane to hydrolyze; (iii) adding a cyclic siloxane to the aqueous medium containing the pre-hydrolyzed polyfunctional silane; (iv) copolymerizing the cyclic siloxane and the pre-hydrolyzed polyfunctional silane to form the organopolysiloxane; and (v) continuing copolymerizing step (iv) until the resulting organopolysiloxane has a viscosity greater than 100,000,000 mPa·s.

Abstract: New particulate detergent compositions suitable for heavy duty laundry applications are disclosed. The detergents contain organic surfactant, zeolite, alkali silicate, anionic functional organosiliconate, and complexing agent for trivalent aluminum. The combined action of the siliconate and the complexing agent provide long lasting improvements in the dissolution characteristics of the detergent particles in wash water.

Abstract: The preparation and applications of anionic siliconate-zeolite composites are disclosed. The composites are formed by coating the surface of zeolite particles with an aqueous solution of an anionic functional organosiliconate. The composites are particularly useful as components of soluble silicate containing detergent compositions since they do not agglomerate with the soluble silicates to form large insoluble particulates that can deposit on fabrics during laundry. Detergent compositions containing the composites are disclosed.
