PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method which facilitates the efficient acquisition of data by a directory assistance operator, when a requester frequently requests the identical information listing. SOLUTION: The present invention is directed to a communication assistance system, comprising a first database 18 having a plurality of listings, where each of the listings has at least one contact name and a corresponding contact number. A telephony hardware 12 is provided, configured to couple a telephone device 6 of a user to the system. A past requested listing table is also provided, for at least one of the users of the system, configured to store past requested listings obtained from the database, as requested by the user. When the user contacts the system with the telephone device, the system recognizes the user and forwards the past requested listing table to an operator terminal of the system. The present invention provides for an enhanced directory assistance system ( 2) for providing directions information to a plurality of callers (4). The syst em is comprised of a telephone switch (12) for receiving calls from a plurality of callers (4) desiring to receive directions, an automatic location system configured to provide the location from the callers (4) during a call sessio n to the telephone switch (12); and an enhanced services direction module (21) configured to receive destination and starting location information provided by the caller (4) and further configured to provide directions to the caller (4) based on the provided information.

A communication assistance system includes a first database having a plurality of listings, each listings has at least one contact name and a corresponding contact number. A means is provided for receiving communications from a user among a plurality of users desiring to access the listings. An operator terminal displays a search screen among a plurality of search screens, each of which maintain at least a partially different arrangement of content and search windows for receiving search terms to search for listings contained in the first database, where the displayed search screen is determined based on criteria contained in a search request from the user. The operator terminal is further configured to receive the communication from the user and retrieve a listing from the first database using the displayed search screen.
Abstract:
An enhanced service platform has an interface (25) for receiving communications from a user requesting desired data. An automated response module (40) parses the communication and retrieves the desired data. The enhanced service platform arranges the desired data into a response message that is sent to the user, where the response message includes an embeded code corresponding to a link allowing the user to re-contact the enhanced platform. An operator assistence module (35) receives communications from the user initiated via the link to provide further assitance regarding user's request.

A communication assistance system includes a database having a plurality of listings therein, each of the listings includes a least one contact name and a contact information. A means is provided for receiving incoming communications from a plurality of requesters seeking a listing. A table stores past requested listings of the requesters, where the system reviews the table for storing past requested listings and, based on contents contained in the past requested listing table, develops a list of requesters to target a promotion to, whereupon when a requester who is among the list of requesters contacts the system, they are provided with the promotion.

The communication assistance system comprises: (a) a first database (18) that has a plurality of listings therein, where each of the listings has at least one contact name and a corresponding contact number, (b) a switching device (12) configured to direct a communication from a telephone device (6) of a user to the system, and (c) a past requested listing table for at least one of the users of the system, which is configured to store prior requested listings obtained from the database (18), wherein when the user contacts the system with the telephone device (6), the system recognizes the user and retrieves at least a portion of the stored prior requested listings from the past requested listing table and delivers them to a customer service representative at an operator terminal (20) of the system.
