Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a mobile terminal, and notify a user of being located in an area in which a high-speed communication service, such as a hot-spot service, is locally provided to the mobile terminal. SOLUTION: A radio wave for communicating with a WWAN (wireless wide area network) system transmitting from a mobile radio terminal 30 capable of communicating with both the WWAN system in a third-generation mobile telephone network, and a WLAN (wireless local area network) system providing a hot spot service in a wireless LAN is received by a WWAN receiving unit 24 provided in the WLAN system. A condition of the mobile terminal 30 being located in an AP service area 21a in an access point 21 of the WLAN system is output to the mobile terminal 30 via the Internet and a base station 11 of the WWAN system. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the follow-up performance of an adaptive equalizing process while reducing the calculation quantity. SOLUTION: A frame is generated which includes a training sequence 100 and a mixed data sequence obtained by inserting symbols 120a-120d of a sequence made white so that they are scattered in data sequences 110a-110e. The frame is converted into a radio signal, which is sent out. The radio signal of the frame is received. With the training sequence 100 in the frame, a tap coefficient of an equalizer is set. During the reception of the mixed data sequence, an adaptive process is performed by using the symbols 120a-120d of the sequence, made white, in the frame to update the tap coefficient of the equalizer.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system which permits the attaching and detaching of adaptor or the like 2 even when the system is in an operating state, and can automatically reconfigure the system configuration in response to the attaching and detaching of the adaptor or the like 2. SOLUTION: Upon the insertion of the adaptor 2, an adaptor detection mechanism 11 notifies a resource manager 19 of the insertion of the adaptor 2 by an interrupt or the like. The resource manager 19, soon after the insertion of the adaptor 2, connects the adaptor 2 mechanically and electrically to the system, reads out the attribute information on the adaptor 2 from a memory therein, and performs a necessary setup and the installation of a device driver and the allocation of a memory or the like that are necessary for the system side, so that an application program makes the adaptor 2 usable. If a user desires to remove the adaptor, the user makes an adaptor removal request with an adaptor removal button 12 or from the program to the resource manager 19.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid forming bubbles in a thermal grease 37 due to a flexural motion of a wiring board 24 caused by the thermal expansion coefficient difference in a CPU package 21 containing the thermal grease 37 lying between a CPU chip 31 and a plate 34 of a heat sink 32. SOLUTION: A through-hole 38 is formed approximately at the center of the plate 34 so as to pierce the plate 34.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow a moving radio mobile station to receive an incoming call in the private radio communication network consisting of an existing PBX and a LAN and integrating voice and data. CONSTITUTION: A 1st radio base station registers a LAN identification code of a 1st radio mobile station and assigns an extension number to the 1st radio mobile station in response to the 1st radio mobile station in existence its own radio cell. Then the 1st radio base station broadcasts call information including a LAN identification code of a 2nd radio mobile station and an extension number assigned to the 1st radio mobile station via a LAN channel. Then a 2nd radio base station registering the LAN identification code of the 2nd radio mobile station receives the call information via the LAN channel and transfers the call information to the 2nd radio mobile station via a radio channel. Then the 2nd radio mobile station dials an extension number included in the call information. Thus, the 1st radio mobile station receives an incoming call and a voice channel with the 2nd radio mobile station is connected.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely detect an object instructed by an operator. CONSTITUTION: By image data from an image data memory 76 and data on the number and position of the object to the images outputted by an object control part 68, a liquid crystal unit 14 is driven through a driver 74 and a picture composed of the images and the objects is formed on the screen. When the operator processes an instruction switch 36, signals including the brightness and darkness state of the object from an instruction device 12 are inputted through the SW judgement part 62 of a PC 18 to a brightness and darkness judgement part 64, brightness and darkness judgement is started in the brightness and darkness judgement part 64 and the brightness of the respective objects is made to fluctuate by the object control part 68. Along with the brightness fluctuation of the objects, the instructed object is decided based on the brightness detected by a photosensor in the brightness and darkness judgement part 64 and a processing (screen changeover), corresponding to the decided object is executed by an object corresponding processing part 66.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior information processing apparatus, along with a method of controlling the same, capable of smoothly transferring transfer data such as an execution result of an application or an HTML (HyperText Markup Language) file acquired from a Web server according to TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) protocol to an external device (PDA) by use of infrared communication function. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus periodically accesses a predetermined server (e.g., the Web server) on a network to acquire a desired file (e.g., the HTML file). This file acquisition operation is performed regardless of the operation of an infrared transmitting and receiving unit. In other words, the information processing apparatus is trying to regularly cache the latest download data for the PDA. As a result, the PDA as the external device can be connected to the information processing apparatus only by being set to an infrared communication mode and being held over an area where the information processing apparatus can find a station to receive the latest data. Abstract:
PURPOSE: To extend a computer system where a local arbiter requesting bus sue gives the priority of respective bus user rights to a common arbitration bus through an open collector-type driving part and a winner is decided through a channel different from a bus signal line. CONSTITUTION: Substitution mechanisms 73 and 79 which substitute the priority of the other buses and have the functions of the local arbiters are provided in first and second systems connected through the channel in a signal transmission form different from the signal transmission form on the bus. In the buses of the first and second systems, arbitration is executed and the winners are decided. The priority of the winners is reported to the substitution mechanisms of the other buses through the channel as the priority of the pertinent buses. The winners of the arbitration of the pertinent buses in the buses and the substitution mechanisms substituting the priority of the other buses execute arbitration again after the notice and the final winner is decided.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior information processor and its control method which can smoothly transfer data such as a processing result obtained by executing an application or an HTML file obtained from a Web server according to the TCP/IP protocol to external equipment (PDA) by using an infrared communication function. SOLUTION: The information processor periodically accesses a specific server machine (e.g. Web server) on a network such as the Internet to obtain a desired file (e.g. HTML file). This file obtaining operation is carried out irrelevantly to the operation of an infrared transmission/reception part. In other words, the information processor tries to always cache the latest downloaded data for a PDA. Consequently, the PDA as external equipment is set in an infrared communication mode and raised over an area where the information processor can find a station and then a connection between both is established, so that the latest data can received.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor which smoothly transfers a processing result that is acquired with application execution or transfer data such as an HTML(hypertext markup language) file that is acquired from a server according to a TCP/IP(transmission control protocol/internet protocol) protocol to an external device (PDA) by using an infrared communication function and its control method. SOLUTION: An information processor periodically accesses a prescribed server machine (e.g. a web server) on a network such as an internet and acquires a desired file (e.g. an HTML file). The file acquisition operation is ventured to be executed regardless of the operation of an infrared light transmitting and receiving part. In other words, the information processor always tries to cache the latest download data for a PDA. As a result, only by setting a PDA as an external device to an infrared communication mode and holding the information processor up in an area where a station can be found, the connection between them is established and the latest data is received.
