    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily knowing the change of a PII character string from a context in executing software. SOLUTION: This method for translation verification includes a step for preparing four text files corresponding to the new version and the old version in first language and second language from the group of PII files of new versions and old versions in the first and the second language; a step for preparing one intermediate file by using a key name and a file name included in the new version of text file in the first language as a retrieval key from the four text files; and a step for generating the PII file for translation verification in the second language by referring to the intermediate file. Furthermore, this method for translation verification includes a step for adding change attribute ID showing the type of change to be acquired by comparing the old version and the new version of text files in the first language and the second language to the intermediate file, and a translation character string is displayed on a GUI picture on the basis of the change attribute ID.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing equipment capable of realizing respectively suitable scrolling functions in the vertical and horizontal display modes. SOLUTION: At the time of a vertical display mode, when a rotary switch is operated clockwise, that is upwards along an equipment left side face, contents are scrolled upwards. On the contrary, when the rotary switch is operated counterclockwise, that is downwards along the equipment left side face, the contents are scrolled downwards. On the other hand, at the time of horizontally placing the equipment, the rotary switch is positioned at a lower left corner part. Then, at the time of a horizontal display mode, when the rotary switch is rotated clockwise, that is upwards along the equipment left side face (pertinent to the upper side face at the time of the vertical placement), the contents are scrolled upwards. On the contrary, when the rotary switch is dial- operated counterclockwise, that is downwards along the equipment left side face, the contents are scrolled downwards. The display contents are scrolled as they are by intuitively operating a single rotary switch in either of the vertical/horizontal display modes.

    Abstract: An information processing apparatus enables the smooth transfer of data, such as processed results obtained from execution of an application program, an HTML file acquired from a Web server in accordance with the TCP/IP protocol or the like, to an external device (PDA) (60) by using an infrared communication function. The apparatus periodically accesses a predetermined server machine (e.g., a Web server) to acquire a desired file (e.g., an HTML file). This file acquisition operation is carried out without the involvement of operations of an infrared transceiver. The information processing apparatus attempts to continually perform caching of the most recent download data. As a result, when the PDA (60) as an external device is set into an infrared communication mode and a user simply holds the PDA to a station discoverable region of the information processing apparatus, a connection between them is established, thereby enabling the PDA to receive the most recent data.

SOLUTION: When the scroll of display data is instructed, the display form of the mouse cursor changes. Namely, a speed indicator appear in an instructed scroll direction. The forms of the speed indicators are small isosceles triangles. When the apexes face the scroll direction, they appeal to the sight of the user. When the number of the speed indicators is increased like one, two and three by adjusting it to scroll speed, for example, the user can intuitively and quantitatively grasp scroll speed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor which smoothly transfers a processing result that is acquired with application execution or transfer data such as an HTML(hypertext markup language) file that is acquired from a server according to a TCP/IP(transmission control protocol/internet protocol) protocol to an external device (PDA) by using an infrared communication function and its control method. SOLUTION: An information processor periodically accesses a prescribed server machine (e.g. a web server) on a network such as an internet and acquires a desired file (e.g. an HTML file). The file acquisition operation is ventured to be executed regardless of the operation of an infrared light transmitting and receiving part. In other words, the information processor always tries to cache the latest download data for a PDA. As a result, only by setting a PDA as an external device to an infrared communication mode and holding the information processor up in an area where a station can be found, the connection between them is established and the latest data is received.
