Abstract:
A common electrode driving device comprising a first driver for driving such that the voltage of the common electrode of a liquid crystal display panel is maintained at a predetermined level every time a horizontal scanning is carried out, an electric charge storage capacitance having a capacitance larger than a capacitance as a common electrode capacitance, an inductance for constituting a resonance circuit, switching means for switching the resonance circuit such that it operates for a predetermined period of time, and a second driver for charging to the electric charge storage capacitance electric charge to make up for the shortage. Since an amount to be driven by the first driver is decreased due to the electric charge storage capacitance and since the second driver excessively charges electric charge to the electric charge storage capacitance, it is possible to change the voltage of the common electrode to a desired level more quickly.
Abstract:
A display system for converting first gray level signal of N bits (N is integer larger than or equal to 2) representing 2 gray levels to second gray level signal representing 2 gray levels (M is integer satisfying N>M>/=1) : said display system comprising: means for separating said first gray level signal of N bits into higher M bits and lower N-M bits; 2 tables each of which stores P x Q modification values satisfying P x Q >/= 2 ; means for selecting one of said tables by using said NM bits; means for adding said M bits and each of modification values of said selected table to generate P x Q second gray level signals; and means for supplying said second gray level signals to a display device of 2 gray levels.
Abstract:
A computer system is provided which allows adapters 2 to be inserted or removed while keeping the system operational, and which can automatically reconfigure the system according to insertion or removal of the adapters 2. When an adapter 2 is inserted, an adapter detection mechanism 11 informs a resource manager 19 of the insertion of the adapter 2 with an interrupt or the like. The resource manager 19 electrically and mechanically connects the adapter 2 immediately after its insertion, and reads the attribute information of the adapter 2 from a memory on the adapter 2 to perform the necessary setup, inclusion of the device driver necessary for the system, and assignment of memory and the like, thus enabling the adapter 2. When a user wants to remove an adapter, he or she issues an adapter removal request from an adapter removal button 12, or a keyboard, etc to the resource manager 19. This request is transmitted to the resource manager 19, which checks the running state of the adapter 2, and, if it can be removed, electrically and then mechanically disconnects it so that it can be removed. The user of the computer system removes the adapter 2 after it is disconnected.

Abstract:
A driver for driving a common electrode of a liquid crystal display panel comprises a first driver for driving the common electrode to hold a predetermined voltage every horizontal scan period, a charge hold capacitance having a capacity bigger than a capacity of the common electrode as a capacitance, an inductance for constructing a resonance circuit, switch means for switching to operate the resonance circuit for a predetermined period when the voltage of the common electrode is changed, and a second driver for putting insufficient charges into the charge hold capacitance. The driving by the first driver is reduced because of the charge hold capacitance. The second driver puts surplus charges into the charge hold capacitance so that the voltage of the common electrode can be more quickly changed to a desired voltage.

Abstract:
PURPOSE: To extend a computer system where a local arbiter requesting bus sue gives the priority of respective bus user rights to a common arbitration bus through an open collector-type driving part and a winner is decided through a channel different from a bus signal line. CONSTITUTION: Substitution mechanisms 73 and 79 which substitute the priority of the other buses and have the functions of the local arbiters are provided in first and second systems connected through the channel in a signal transmission form different from the signal transmission form on the bus. In the buses of the first and second systems, arbitration is executed and the winners are decided. The priority of the winners is reported to the substitution mechanisms of the other buses through the channel as the priority of the pertinent buses. The winners of the arbitration of the pertinent buses in the buses and the substitution mechanisms substituting the priority of the other buses execute arbitration again after the notice and the final winner is decided.
