    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce resonance caused by an air flow in a driving device by providing an opening portion having a specified aperture in a rib erected in the longitudinal direction of an arm section having a head slider attached to its tip. SOLUTION: A head suspension assembly(HSA) is provided with an arm section 3a having a head slider 2 attached to its tip, and the head slider 2 is loaded on a disk side by a spring, for example by a 2g load. Ribs 3b are formed on both sides of the longitudinal direction of the arm section 3a to maintain rigidity. In this case, plural opening portions 3c are formed in each of the ribs 3b to reduce a projection area. When the arm section 3a is formed by stainless steel machining, since the opening portion 3c is formed by etching, the dimension of the opening portion 3c is set larger than the plate thickness of the stainless steel, e.g. about 60 μm. By setting the aperture of the opening portion 3c with respect to the rib 3b equal to 10% or more, Karman's vortex generated in the downstream side of the rib 3b is reduced.

The inner peripheral diameter of the center part of a joined region between the hub 14 and the sleeve 11 is larger than that of each of the upper and lower joined parts 24 and 25 of the joined region, thus a stress reducing region 23 is formed. In a left part V, a difference between the stress vectors A' and B' of the upper and lower ends of the reducing region is smaller than that between the vectors A and B. Because cages 12U, 12D are provided with holes 18U, 18D for supplying grease which extend toward each of balls 10U, 10D, grease is supplied to only balls 10U, 10D which actually require lubrication. Therefore, extra grease does not enter a gap between a shaft 2 and the cages 12U, 12D, and frictional force between the shaft 2 and the bearing 1 is not increased.

The base plate 20 after polishing is heated to a solution treatment temperature in a reducing atmosphere during a heat treatment process. Through the heat treatment process, an oxide of ingredients in broken micro pieces of the abrasive existed on the face of the base material of the base plate 20 is reduced to leave iron and the iron is diffused in the base material.

In the writing operation at the off-track position, since the adjacent track data may probably be broken, the allowable position error of the magnetic head 2 is set and when PES from the target track exceeds the allowable position error, the write operation is inhibited. Moreover, when the track width direction velocity of magnetic head is higher than the allowable value, since PES may probably exceed the position error, the write operation is inhibited.

The ground electrode 18c of the piezoelectric sensor 18 is joined and electrically connected to a measured member 7b with the non-electroconductive adhesive. By measuring a capacitance between the output electrode 18b of the piezoelectric sensor 18 and the measured member 7b, the electrical connection is checked.

A change rate of a temperature of a distance X between the outer rings 33b is made to be higher than that of a distance Y between the inner rings 33a, 34a, so that difference of change in dimension of the inner rings 33a, 34b, outer rings 33b, and a rolling body is compensated by difference of change in dimension of a distance between the bearings.
