    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a shampoo composition excellent in the viscosity stability at elevated temperatures and no gelling even at low temperatures, despite containing a polyoxyalkylene alkylsulfosuccinic acid salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective shampoo composition contains (A) pref. 0.1-25 (esp. 1-10)wt.% of an alkylene glycol alkyl ether, e.g. a compound of formula I (R is H or methyl; R is 1-5C alkyl) and (B) pref. 0.5-30 (esp. 1-20)wt.% of a polyoxyalkylene alkylsulfosuccinic acid salt, e.g. a compound of formula II or III [AO is a single group or mixture, being CH2CH2O or C(CH3)H-CH2O; R is R -O or R -(C=0)-NH (R is 8-22C alkyl or alkenyl; R is 7-21C alkyl or alkenyl); M is H, alkali (alkaline earth) metal, ammonium or organoammonium; (m) is 1-20].

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a hair cosmetic containing a chitosan polyoxyalkylene ether and an ultraviolet absorber at a specific ratio, imparting the hair with natural luster and effective for preventing the damage of the hair. CONSTITUTION:The objective cosmetic contains 0.01-10wt.% of a chitosan polyoxyalkylene ether produced by etherifying chitosan with one or more alkylene oxides (especially propylene oxide or a combination of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide) and 0.01-5wt.% of an ultraviolet absorber (e.g. ethyl p- aminobenzoate, the compound of formula I or formula II). The hair cosmetic is preferably used in a non-rinsing cosmetic form to be directly applied to the hair, e.g. hair-liquid, hair-cream, hair oil, hair get, hair mist, hair foam, set lotion, hair mousse and hair spray. It can be used by filling in a pressure vessel together with a propellant.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic showing appearance clearly divided into two layers when the cosmetic is not used, being blended and becoming a uniformly dispersed suspension by shaking, providing skin with excellent touch by blending a specific water-lower alcohol mixture with powder subjected to water repellent treatment. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic of two layer separation type comprising a liquid- phase component composed of water and a lower alcohol in a weight ratio of 45/55 to 0/100 and a powder subjected to water repellent treatment. One or more powders obtained by organic coating of powder (e.g. fluorine treatment, lecithin treatment, amino acid treatment or liquid paraffin treatment) by treatment with an organic substance or obtained by inorganic coating by treatment with an inorganic substance may be cited as the powder subjected to water repellent treatment. The cosmetic provides skin with excellent touch and has excellent dispersibility of powder in a water layer containing a large amount of lower alcohol.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the stability of emulsion with relatively a little amt. of surface active agent, by using methylated beta-cyclodextrin contg. >=50wt.% specified methylated beta-cyclodextrin as a emulsifying assistant and so forming a emulsified composition. CONSTITUTION:Methylated beta-cyclodextrin of 8.0-11.0wt. average degree of ether substitution contg. >=50wt.% methylated beta-cyclodextrin of 8-11 degree of ether substitution is used as the emulsifying assistant. In this case, an oil-in- water type emulsified composition and a water-in-oil type emulsified composition are prepared by blending the above-mentioned specified methylated beta- cyclodextrin to the mixture of oil, emulsifier and water. The obtained emulsified composition has little fear for stimulating skin because the good stability of emulsion is obtained with relatively a little amt. of surface active agent. Therefore, the composition is usable for cosmetics for skin and for hair, as it is.
