    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain 5alpha-reductase inhibitor of high safety, which is useful for a variety of diseases male hormone participates, using capillarisin as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:Capillarisin, a component distributing in plants is used as an active ingredient, to produce pharmaceutical preparations such as tablets, powder, granules, capsules, solution, injection, ointment or suppository. The dose is 20-200mg/adult/day in one to several portions, for prostatic hypertrophy, alopecia, or bruise. Lotion, tonic spray, solution or ointment is suitable for alopecia and acne. Capillarisin has action to inhibit 5alpha-reductase, further it has also action to inhibit male hormone to bond to the acceptor as in known 5alpha-reductase inhibitor.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bathing agent having excellent effect, stable over a long period, easily usable without clouding the bath water and free from vehicle, by compounding dried powder of extraction liquid of SENKYU (rhizome of Cnidium officinale) and/or TOKI (root of Angelica acutiloba) prepared by specific extraction and production process. CONSTITUTION:SENKYU and/or TOKI are extracted with hot water of 80-100 deg.C for 2-10hr and the obtained hot water extract is joined with a recovered component produced by recovering volatile component evaporated in the hot-water extraction process. The obtained extraction liquid of SENKYU and/or TOKI is dried and the obtained dry powder is used as an active component of the objective bathing agent. The agent is preferably used as a weakly acidic agent by combining with carbon dioxide gas or carbon dioxide gas-generating component. The carbon dioxide gas is dissolved in the extract under high pressure or the extract is combined with a carbon dioxide gas-holding substance or generating substance. In the case of using the dried powder of the extracted crude drug used as the active component in combination with carbon dioxide gas or carbon dioxide gas-generating substance, the amount of the dried powder of the extracted crude drug is preferably 1-30%, especially 5-20% based on the whole composition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a 5alpha-reductase inhibitor useful for treating and preventing male-hormone related epidemics such as male alopecia, hirsutism, prostatic hypertropy, etc., containing an extract from leaves and/or pericarp of walnut as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:Leaves and/or pericarp of walnut is preferably dried, powdered, immersed and extracted with a solvent (e.g. polyethylene glycol) at normal temperature or under pressure or extracted with Soxhlet's extractor to give an extract. The extract may be directly used as it is as a 5alpha-reductase or mixed with ordinary drug additives and pharmaceutically manufactured into tablet, powder, granule, capsule, solution, etc., by a conventional procedure to give the aimed substance. A dose is 1mg-1g per adult one time and administered one time - several times/day in the case of prostatic hypertropy and a dose is 10mug-100mg and administered one time - several times/day in the case of apopecia treatment.
