Abstract: The self-climbing elevator machine room (100) comprises two decks (110, 120) positioned upon each other. Each deck comprises guide means (160) supporting the deck movably on guide rails (25) and locking means (170) locking and unlocking the deck to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means (26, 27). Lifting means 130 move the two decks along the guide rails in relation to each other. At least one power source 200 provides power to the lifting means. The elevator machine room climbs stepwise along the guide rails by alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing means and thereafter raising the unlocked deck.

Abstract: The arrangement comprises a self-climbing installation platform (100) comprising two consecutive decks (110, 120), a machine room deck (510) suspended from the installation platform and an elevator car (10) suspended from the machine room deck. Each deck, the machine room deck and the car are supported movably with guide means on guide rails (25) and locked and unlocked with locking means to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means. Lifting means powered by a power source move the two decks in relation to each other. The installation platform climbs stepwise along the guide rails by alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing means and thereafter raising the unlocked deck.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transporting construction material and/or equipment into and inside a building (1) under construction, wherein the building (1) under construction comprises plurality of vertically displaced floors (F0-Fn), the method comprising providing a control system (11) configured to automatically operate one or more transporting devices (2-6, GE), including at least an elevator (GE); providing a storage (8) at the construction site of the building; and transporting into the storage (8) at the construction site of the building (1) under construction plurality of transport containers (9) containing construction material and/or equipment; storing said transport containers (9) in the storage (8); and delivering transport containers (9) belonging to said plurality of transport containers from said storage (8) to different destination floors (F1-Fn), the delivering comprising obtaining an order to deliver a transport container (9), the order identifying the transport container (9) to be delivered; and retrieving the transport container (9) identified in the order from the storage (8); and moving said transport container (9) at least horizontally to a container loading floor (FO) of the building (1) under construction; and loading said transport container (9) on the load receiving unit (7) for being moved to its destination floor; and obtaining the destination floor information indicating the destination floor of said container (9); and moving the load receiving unit (7) vertically in the elevator shaft (S) to the destination floor of said transport container (9); and unloading said transport container (9) from the load receiving unit (7) to the destination floor of said transport container (9). The invention also relates to a method for constructing a building and an arrangement for transporting construction material, which implement the method for transporting construction material and/or equipment into and inside a building (1) under construction.
