Abstract: The present invention relates to an encoding and decoding method and apparatus adopting block coding. The block coding-based encoding and decoding method and apparatus can reliably recover highly significant data even upon the occurrence of continuous data loss in a wired/wireless transmission path, thus providing uninterrupted service even when quality is at a minimum. The highly significant data are calculated by pre-duplication or post-duplication. Data lost in a specific time zone can be recovered by the data duplicated in another time zone.
