Abstract:
PURPOSE:The titled tablet that contains a specific amount of a benzalkonium halide, an alkali metal hydrogen carbonate and monoalkali metal phosphate as a foaming agent, thus permitting the prompt and ready preparation of disinfectant solution with a certain concentration. CONSTITUTION:A disinfectant tablet is prepared using (a) 3-30wt%, preferably 5-20wt% of benzalkonium halide, (b) 20-40wt% of alkali metal hydorgen carbonate, (c) 40-70wt% of at least one selected from monoalkali metal phosphate, citric acid, tartaric acid and malic acid and (d) 0.5-4.0wt%, preferably 1.0- 3.0wt% of water as essential components. The tablet is stable under normal conditions and readily soluble in water, when thrown into water. The resultant solution shows high disinfectant activity, being used in a simple manner.

PURPOSE: To improve the yield of manufacture by bringing magnesium oxide having a specified specific surface area into contact with mother liquor for crystallizing sodium percarbonate at a specified temp. to inhibit the decomposition of H 2 O 2 in the mother liquor. CONSTITUTION: Sodium percarbonate crystals are deposited from an H 2 O 2 soln. and an Na 2 CO 3 soln. Mother liquor consisting of the solns. for crystallizing sodium percarbonate is treated by bringing magnesium oxide having ≥1m 2 /g specific surface area, preferably highly active magnesium oxide having 50W 200m 2 /g specific surface area into contact with the mother liquor at ≤28°C, preferably ≤25°C. In case of bath treatment, the amount of magnesium oxide to be used is about 0.1W10wt% of the amount of the mother liquor, and the contact time is about 1minW2hr. In case of column treatment, about 10W5,000 times as much mother liquor as magnesium oxide is passed at ≥2 superficial linear velocity in column. The decomposition of H 2 O 2 in the mother liquor is inhibited, and the stability of sodium percarbonate is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)1984,JPO&Japio
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form sodium percarbonate having improved stability and shelf stability, by treating sodium percarbonate powder with a coating agent containing a borate. CONSTITUTION:Sodium percarbonate powder wetted with water is smeared with about 0.04-10wt%, based on the dry sodium percarbonate expressed in terms of boron, borate, e.g. sodium tetraborate decahydrate having about 50-300mu particle diameter, and the resultant treated sodium percarbonate powder is dried at the melting point of the borate or above to give the aimed sodium percarbonate powder coated with the borate on the surface thereof. Preferably, a sequestering agent, e.g. an ethylenediaminetetraacetate, is used together with the borate.

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled product having improved mechanical strength and high dissolving rate in water, by reacting and crystallizing Na2CO3 with H2O2 in the presence of a specific stabilizer, mixing a carbonate, etc. with the resultant cake containing a suitable mother liquor, and granulating the resultant mixture. CONSTITUTION:Na2CO3 is reacted with H2O2 in the presence of a silicate, Mg salt an alkali metallic salt or triethanolamine salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), and the reaction product is crystallized. A cake consisting of 75- 92pts.wt. Na2CO3 and 25-8pts.wt. mother liquor is separated, and a carbonate or polysaccharide or a derivative thereof is mixed therewith, and the resultant mixture is granulated. The three components of the stabilizers are essential, and the absence of the Mg salt deteriorates the moisture resistance. The absence of the silicate deteriorates the thermal stability and mechanical strength. The salt of EDTA interacts with the salts to further improve the product stability. The absence of the salt of the EDTA does not provide a sufficient resistance to heat and moisture. The granulating additive is effective only when added to the cake.
