Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save cost and to enhance efficiency in a service provider by including a step to execute a specified application from a network resource server(NRS) to a network element on a basis of a line, etc., in the NRS. SOLUTION: A step to establish interconnection between the network element on the basis of the line and the NRS, a step to establish interconnection between a network element on a basis of a packet and the NRS and a step to execute the specified application from the NRS to the network element on the basis of the line are included in the NRS. Namely, the NRS 170 is interconnected with a part 120 on the basis of the line and a part 140 on the basis of the packet of a joint telecommunication network 100 and service is provided for both parts. A variety of service functions or applications are executed according to a request by a subscriber of the joint telecommunication network 100 by the NRS 170.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the control of a data traffic flow between a user and a network obtained in a wide band by allowing a customer position equipment(CPE) to store (m) tokens or less in response to the reception of tokens, and transmitting only one stored cell to each token stored in the CPE. SOLUTION: An input from an FIFO 6 indicates a signal for indicating whether or not (n) cells or more are stored at present in the FIFO 6. When the (n) cells or more are stored at present in the FIFO 6 in response to a signal from the FIFO 6, a control signal is generated so that proper generic flow control bits can be inserted into cells to be transmitted from a physical layer interface 4 to a connected CPE 1 for suspending the formation of any new token in the connected CPE 1. The CPE 1 stores (m) tokens or less in response to the reception of the token, and only one stored cell is transmitted to each token stored in the CPE 1.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for automatically selecting an alert type based on the location of a cellular phone. SOLUTION: The method of automatically selecting the alert type for a mobile electronic device comprises the steps of (A) determining the location of the mobile electronic device, and (B) based on the location information, determining an appropriate alert type for the mobile electronic device. When the cellular phone is located in a restaurant, a theater or a place like that, the alert type is changed to a silent mode (vibration mode), and when the cellular phone leaves the place, the alert type is changed back to a loud audible alert mode. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To warn a user about the snatching of transmission by providing a processor which transmits a message to a terminating system to show that the transmission is received via an unsafe link. SOLUTION: An originating system such as a cable set top box 134 receives dialed figures that identifies a called subscriber (e.g. a user receiving service from a personal computer 126). Then the originating system sets up a call path to the called subscriber. When the call path includes an unsafe link, a question is sent to a terminating system to decide whether the system of the final destination can process an enciphered message. In this example, an ISP server 120 gives a question to a DSP 128 to decide whether the DSP 128 has the reading capability. When the DSP 128 has no reading capability, the originating system gives warning to a calling subscriber using a telephone set 138 about the unsafe transmission.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated network providing an asynchronous transferring mode(ATM) cell by generating the ATM cell through the use of ATM transport between a central telephone station and an external distribution plant concerning narrow band service such as telephone and wide band service such as data and digital video. SOLUTION: The electric communication network is constituted of a means transporting a synchronizing signal, a means transporting an ATM cell carrying a wide band signal, a means converting the synchronizing signal into an ATM cell, a means 2 combining the ATM cell carrying the synchronizing signal and the ATM cell carrying the wide band signal, and a means 45 transporting the combined ATM cell from a means combined with an equipment in a customer's private branch. The means transporting the combined ATM cell consists of a distribution manager 6 including a means routing an ATM cell and a means converting and returning a selected ATM cell into the synchronizing signal.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing a courtesy alerting feature taking the environment/surrounding into account and to provide a mobile electronic device provided with the method. SOLUTION: If the user of the mobile electronic device wants to answer the call request but cannot do so immediately, the user can activate the courtesy alerting feature using an input device on the mobile device. By pressing numerical keys a message is sent to the calling party to inform him that the user of the mobile device cannot currently answer the call but is moving to a place where the call request can be taken. Once in a location where the call can be taken, the user presses an answer button on the mobile device and can respond the call.

An incoming twisted pair loop traffic is converted into an asynchronous packet traffic and given to a data subsystem 144 of the edge vehicle 140. The data subsystem 144 receives packet-processed data from the respective subscriber lines 171, 173, 175, and the data are transferred to a packet data transport network 150 or an end destination (final destination) in a conventional PSTN 160.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize throughput by providing plural aircraft, which are mutually connected via a high-speed data link to a ground station and the ground stations which are mutually connected to data networks in a system. SOLUTION: When a passenger boarding on the aircraft 116 requests access to data network via a board, it is received by an aircraft router. The aircraft router performs access to an air network controller, in order to decide the efficient link to the ground station for providing service to a data network access. The air network controller decides whether or not service is provided to the data network access request of the passenger and transmits the data network access request to the rear or the front part radiator, in order to transmit it to another aircraft or other ground stations. A base station receives the request, and the passenger who requests it is connected to the data network requested.
