A variety of service functions or applications are executed according to a request by a subscriber of the joint telecommunication network 100 by the NRS 170.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the control of a data traffic flow between a user and a network obtained in a wide band by allowing a customer position equipment(CPE) to store (m) tokens or less in response to the reception of tokens, and transmitting only one stored cell to each token stored in the CPE. SOLUTION: An input from an FIFO 6 indicates a signal for indicating whether or not (n) cells or more are stored at present in the FIFO 6. When the (n) cells or more are stored at present in the FIFO 6 in response to a signal from the FIFO 6, a control signal is generated so that proper generic flow control bits can be inserted into cells to be transmitted from a physical layer interface 4 to a connected CPE 1 for suspending the formation of any new token in the connected CPE 1. The CPE 1 stores (m) tokens or less in response to the reception of the token, and only one stored cell is transmitted to each token stored in the CPE 1.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for automatically selecting an alert type based on the location of a cellular phone. SOLUTION: The method of automatically selecting the alert type for a mobile electronic device comprises the steps of (A) determining the location of the mobile electronic device, and (B) based on the location information, determining an appropriate alert type for the mobile electronic device. When the cellular phone is located in a restaurant, a theater or a place like that, the alert type is changed to a silent mode (vibration mode), and when the cellular phone leaves the place, the alert type is changed back to a loud audible alert mode.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved Internet protocol packet router that can process many packets arrived to each module of the router in the unit of seconds by using an economical means. SOLUTION: This invention provides the router and method that routes packets having a destination address at their header and uses a simple routing module, which can route only packets whose destination addresses are stored in a limited memory storing corresponding output port addresses of the module, a default routing module, which is used to find out the identification of output ports used to route packets other than the packets received by the simple routing module of the router, and a network fabric which is interconnected to at least either of both the modules and sets up the connection between the modules.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize throughput by providing plural aircraft, which are mutually connected via a high-speed data link to a ground station and the ground stations which are mutually connected to data networks in a system. SOLUTION: When a passenger boarding on the aircraft 116 requests access to data network via a board, it is received by an aircraft router. The aircraft router performs access to an air network controller, in order to decide the efficient link to the ground station for providing service to a data network access. The air network controller decides whether or not service is provided to the data network access request of the passenger and transmits the data network access request to the rear or the front part radiator, in order to transmit it to another aircraft or other ground stations. A base station receives the request, and the passenger who requests it is connected to the data network requested.
