    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce a power control ability by deciding a vocoding rate before receiving the sequence of a downward frame or an interleaving frame. SOLUTION: In a base station 14, one frame is organized, which includes an information bit in the vocoding rate as a channel bit in one channel rate, in order to transmit a downward signal on a traffic channel and at least one rate indicating bit which expresses the vocoding rate is arranged in the head part of the frame. In a mobile station 16, downward transmission power is calculated by taking the vocoding rate expressed by at least one rate indicating bit in consideration and the vocoding rate is decided by decoding the head part of the frame so that power control is executed in a period being shorter than one frame from the repetition of the first frame.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna configuration whereby the effective regions of signals are maximized and the interferences of signals are suppressed to a minimum both in a cell and among several adjacent cells thereto. SOLUTION: For a radio communication network, a system and its method for configuring and reconfiguring a cylindrical antenna array are developed. After receiving continuously from a mobile radio equipment its positional and signal informations, the reconfiguration of the antenna components of the cylindrical antenna array are so determined by using these informations as to improve the performances of the system. For this purpose, the interferences of antenna signals with each other and the drops of callings from the mobile radio equipment and a base station, etc., are suppressed to a minimum. Further, the antenna of the base station is so configured dynamically as to maximize the qualities of the voices with each other both in a cell and among a plurality of adjacent cells thereto.

According to variation in cell transmission power or traffic load variation, the Ec/Io is calculated on the basis of the cell traffic load data.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna system in which a traffic load is distributed uniformly between cells or between sectors of the cells by a method wherein, even when each cell is loaded heavily, a radio call can be established and processed and, when a traffic is overloaded, a soft hand-off operation to another base station inside an adjacent cell can be performed. SOLUTION: Antenna components for a cylindrical antenna array is adjusted, and a load is dynamically shared among the sectors of the cells or among the cells. The antenna component adjusts a beam arrangement or a beam direction on the basis of the monitored load. Consequently, the coverage region of the antenna array is changed so as to cope with a change in the density of the traffic. The antenna component is adjusted, and a change in the load inside each cell or between the cells is housed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the collision amount of access messages on a random access channel(RACH) in an opposite direction by a plurality of mobile stations which are about to obtain simultaneous accesses in the wireless communications system. SOLUTION: A probe message, shorter than an access message in place of the access message, is transmitted through a RACH. The period of use for the RACH by the transmission of the probe message is shorter than that by the transmission of the access message, and the chances for collision with other probe messages can be reduced. Then the access message is sent through a traffic channel or a control channel designated by a base station receiving the probe signal. Alternative method offer data burst being transmitted trough a designated traffic channel or control channel.
