    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of the bridge section of a glass tube in mounting it to a lighting equipment by providing a base to one end of said glass tube while arraning a spacer in a clearance of said glass tube. CONSTITUTION:An electric discharge path is formed, through a hollow bridge 3, between electrodes 5, 5 of a fluorescent lamp. A spacer 7 is provided in the clearance of a glass tube 1 in mouting a fluorescent lamp like this to a lighting equipment. As result, the compression strength of the glass tube 1 is considerably improved with no unnatural force applied to a bridge section 3, thus enabling to prevent breakage of said bridge section.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent generation of crack in the vicinity of portions for jointing plural discharge tubes by providing a base at one side ends of the tubes, fixing said base to the electrode side ends of the tubes with a base binder and to the non-electrode side ends of the tubes with thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:A base body 12 is fixed to the electrode side ends of discharge tubes 1 and 4 with a base binder 25, whereby lowering of binding strength of the base due to temperature increase at these ends during discharge operation can be prevented, while binding strength of the base to the ends of the discharge tubes 1-4 are fully maintained. And, the base body 12 is fixed to non-electrode side ends of discharge tubes 2 and 3 with thermoplastic resin 26, whereby the thermoplastic resin 26 is softened during the discharge operation. Further, spaces are respectively formed among the ends of the discharge tubes 3 and 4 and holes 15 and 16. Therefore, the ends of the discharge tubes 3 and 4 can be moved outward. Thus, it is possible to prevent certainly generation of crack in the vicinity of the jointing portions.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the strength against the compression of the glass tube at the central portion so as to prevent the breakdown of the bridge portion when the lamp is attached to the illumination device by providing a spacer in the specified range between the inner end of the bridge of the glass tube and the upper end of the base of a discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:The low pressure vapor discharge lamp of twin fluorescent lamp type is constructed with two glass tubes 1 coated with the film 2 of fluorescent material on the inside surface which are connected to each other with bridge 3 in the vicinity of the closed end. And on the other end portion of the glass tube 1 the base 6 provided with the electrode 4 and the stem 5 is planted. The spacer 7 is arranged in the specified range of the length L between the inner end of the bridge 3 and the base 6 of the discharge lamp. Thereby the strength against the compression at the central portion of the two glass tubes 1 can be improved so as to prevent the breakdown of the portion of the bridge 3 when the discharge tube is attached to the illumination device.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable constant measurement of a vacuum degree curve by providing a contactor wherein a brush and a contact contact with each other, which makes a vacuum element and a vacuum gauge conductive when the rotary part is retating, in a hollow part inside a center valve. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of ring-shaped contacts 13 and brushes 20 are provided in a hollow part inside a center valve rotary part 2 and a center valve fixed part 3, and the contacts 13 are fixed to a stator 14 by a supporting part 12, and the brushes which contact with the contacts 13 are provided freely in rotation at the inside wall part of a rotor 15. Also, to the contacts 13 a vacuum gauge 9 and a pen recorder 10 are connected by electric wirings 8, respectively, and a vacuum element 7 is connected to the brushes 20 through an electric wiring 8. By this constitution, the electric wiring 8 ceases to get entangled by the rotation during production of the center valve rotary valve 2, and the measurement control of vacuum degree in the tubular bulb 1 can be performed at all times.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make uniform the thickness of a film a phosphor is coated with, to prevent color shading and to improve the external appearance by a method wherein, when a linear bulb is heated and softened while the bulb is held in the vertical direction, its elongation is equalized. CONSTITUTION:By forming a heat resistant radiation-reflecting film 2 having a melting point of 600 deg.C or over on the external surface in the end portion of a sealed linear bulb 1 along its axial direction, for instance, using white powder of a white phosphor and the like, the external surface in the end portion of the linear bulb 1 is coated with the radiation-reflecting film 2. Next the linear fluorescent lamp is placed in a heating furnace in such a way that the radiation- reflecting film 2 is located in the upper portion of the lamp, and the linear bulb 1 is heated and softened while it is being vertically held. After this, the bulb is formed into a tube and the radiation-reflecting film 2 is wiped to remove the film from the tubular bulb. Then bases and the like are attached to the tube through the usual method to complete a tubular fluorescent lamp.
