    Abstract: An ice making apparatus adapted in a refrigerator includes a water supply tank (7) and a frame portion (8), where the water supply tank (7) is comprised of a tank main body (15) and a lid body (16), and the lid body (16) is provided with a sealing member (20) securely fixed onto an outer peripheral face (19a) of a side wall (19), and where a side wall of said tank main body (15) has an inclined face (17) at its inner peripheral top portion thereof. The frame portion (8) includes a tank attachment portion (22) and a pump placing portion (23), where the tank attachment portion (22) has a substrate plate (34) and a joint tubular member (35) which is engaged with a discharge tube (27) of the water supply tank (7). Thus, the side wall (19) of the lid body (16) is easily guided to the fitted condition and engaged with the tank main body (15) without using any locking member, with reduction of the spaces and number of manufacturing processes and number of parts, increasing a volume of a water supply tank without restricting a food storage capacity in the refrigerator.

The refrigerator includes a refrigerating chamber, a vegetable chamber, and a freezing chamber in order from its top to its bottom. Cool air is introduced into the freezing chamber by a first cooler and a first fan, and is introduced into the refrigerating chamber by a second cooler and a second fan. These chambers function as a direct cooling chamber. The vegetable chamber functions as an indirect cooling chamber cooled by a cooling plate which is disposed at the top of the chamber and has a large thermal conductivity, which is cooled by forced convection by the second cooler and the second fan, producing the effects of low temperature radiation and natural convection in the chamber. This arrangement provides the refrigerator with quality maintaining effects in accordance with the suitability for storage of foods, and allows the refrigerator to assure high storing performance.

    Abstract: A refrigerator which is designed to suppress drying and oxidation to create an improved storage environment therein for food and which has increased volumetric efficiency and increased cooling efficiency. A cold storage chamber, a vegetable chamber and a freezing chamber are arranged in the refrigerator in the order mentioned as viewed from top. The freezing chamber has cold air introduced thereinto from a first cooler and a first blower and the cold storage chamber has cold air introduced thereinto from a second cooler and a second blower, so that both chambers function directly as cooling chambers. The vegetable chamber is provided at its top with a thermally conductive cooling plate which is cooled by the action of forced convection caused by the second cooler and second blower so as to radiate low temperature within the chamber, so that it functions as an indirect cooling chamber which is cooled by natural convection effect. Therefore, the refrigerator has high preservation performance, exerting quality retention effects corresponding to the storage suitabilities of foods.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a cold air passage, to increase the containing volume of a whole refrigerator, to save a power, and to improve amenity, by a method wherein a vegetable chamber having a highest temperature is cooled by a transmission and a radiant heat from the circumference. SOLUTION: A refrigerating chamber 3 is situated at the upper part of a refrigerator body 1, a low temperature chamber 6 and an ice storage chamber are positioned at the same height at the left and the right therebelow, a deep freezer 12 at the lower part of the refrigerator body 1, and vegetable chambers 9 are respectively independently arranged between the low temperature chamber 6, the ice storage chamber and the deep freezer 12. The refrigerating chamber 3 is provided with a horizontal opening closing door 2, the low temperature chamber 6, the ice storage chamber, the vegetable chamber 9, and the deep freezer 12 provided with push pull doors 5, 8, and 11, respectively. A compressor 18 is situated in the rear of the lowest part of the refrigerator body 1, and a cooler 16 in the rear of the vegetable chamber 9. The vegetable chamber 9 is surrounded by the low temperature chamber 6, the ice storage chamber, the deep freezer 12, and the cooling chamber 16, and cooled by a transmission heat and a radiant heat therefrom. Thus, there is no passage to feed cold air for forced cooling to the vegetable chamber 9.
