    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for specifying a consumer as a trend spotter and trend follower in a specific market domain and evaluating electronic commercial transactions of the consumer.SOLUTION: A system comprises: an acquisition component which comprises means of monitoring a consumer transaction, means of acquiring and storing transaction data related to an item involved in the consumer transaction, and means of acquiring and storing a sales history; a valuation component which comprises operation means for assigning a virtual price proportional to the number of sales of the item; a broker component which comprises operation means for performing processing for issuing a virtual share for the item at the virtual price to an account associated with the consumer; and a portfolio component which comprises means of classifying the virtual share into markets and means of creating virtual portfolios, and is configured to receive updates of the virtual price from the valuation component and track sales performance of the virtual portfolios, thereby evaluating the consumer.

    SOLUTION: The server has access to one or more data storage media on which the server holds a database. The database has a plurality of records that can be searched based on key values. The server holds a page definition table in addition to the database. The page definition table has a plurality of entries, each indicating pairs of key values. To perform an information search, a client submits a search value to the server. The server responds by identifying an entry from the page definition table that corresponds to the search value. The server then identifies a set of database records whose key values are bounded by the pair of key values of the identified entry. Data from these database records are returned as search results to the client.

    Abstract: Innovative aspects provided herein pertain to digital rights management (DRM) and/or enforcement in conjunction with remote network clouds and services. Digital rights management licenses/rights/policies can be applied to personal files to facilitate worry free remote storage and/or file sharing. These rights can be identity-centric rather than machine centric, thereby facilitating access and usage from any network device anywhere. Various mechanisms are also disclosed to deter assorted uses of content and/or encourage rights acquisition as an alterative or in addition to technologically prohibitive means. Additionally, a system and method are provided that can afford a frictionless marketplace for file distribution, wherein content is protected and freely distributed and identity-centric rights can be purchased to access the content.
