Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system. The wireless communication system is equipped with multiple antennas (210, 310) to work with lower number of radio in a wireless mesh network. The wireless communication system includes an enhanced mesh coordinated channel access (MCCA) module (223, 323) to provide reservation of contention free time slots and to map the direction of source and destination nodes in the wireless mesh network. Moreover, the wireless communication system further includes an antenna selection module (250, 350) to select the appropriate antenna (210, 310) to be employed during transmission and reception of data in the wireless mesh network. In order to ensure synchronization between the MCCA module (223, 323) and the antenna selection module (250, 350), a synchronization module (260, 360) is provided in the wireless communication system.

Abstract: A method of allocating an appropriate quality of service (QoS) of data traffic based on quality of transmission for WiMAX is provided, characterized in that, the method includes the steps of matching a plurality of interference parameters at each node of network, determining at least one channel and interference condition, matching at least one channel with QoS policy (101), adapting channel selection with channel quality and interference condition with time varying conditions (103) and transmitting signal based on using an appropriate QoS policy based on traffic quality, wherein a monitoring procedure is established to check if channels are deteriorating due to interference wherein if conditions gets worse, then channel selection and allocation procedure need to be repeated.

Abstract: As unlicensed users that have lower priority in spectrum usage often cause interference to licensed users in a wireless network, there is a need to provide a method to reduce the problem. The present invention aims to reduce the interference by improving the spectrum sensing capability of unlicensed users through distribution of collected data from the licensed users such as spectrum holes, unavailable channels, interference temperature and presence of the licensed users detected from licensed users among unlicensed users of each clusters and exchange of the data with other clusters. The steps involved in this method include forming clusters consisting of unlicensed users in which a cluster head is selected for each cluster. The unlicensed users collect data of the surrounding radio spectrum band and distribute it among other unlicensed users of the same cluster. The cluster heads also exchange the collected data among themselves to further disseminate the exchanged collected data to other members of the clusters. An available channel is selected based on the collected data for data transmission among the unlicensed users. By doing so, the unlicensed user could move into the available channel and performs data transmission with its counterparts without causing much interference to the licensed users in the wireless network.
