Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing method that can detect dark debris without interference by background noise in a fixed star tracking mode suitable to a wide-ranging observation. SOLUTION: For an arbitrary point P0 on an image, a point P1 where an object of observation point-imaged at an exposure start time is imaged at an exposure end time is computed, and an image output on a line joining the points P0 to P1 on image data is added. This process is carried out for every point in the image. Before the addition of the image data on the line joining the points P0 to P1, a level of noise is determined, and a high-density image of a celestial body in the image data is replaced with the noise level to erase the star image. The noise level may be determined through the computation of a peak value of a histogram of data on the processed region of the image.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a moving celestial body which is dark to an almost undetectable degree in the observed image of one frame by removing a large quantity of fixed star images which hinder detection. SOLUTION: Images 2-1 to 2-3 of an area, suited to operation of the moving celestial body, are respectively cut off from images 1-1 to 1-3 of plural frames imaged at specific time intervals. Next, a central value image 3-1 is made by taking a central value on the same pixel of the whole cutoff images 2-1 to 2-3. Influence of the fixed stars moving on the cutoff images is removed by taking the central value, and only the moving celestial body can be left. An average value image is made, by using the obtained central value image by plural frame for increasing a detection limit, and the dark moving celestial body undetectable in the observing image of the one frame is extracted.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the reliability against a trouble in a detector in measuring the angles of sideslip and incidence of aircraft by disposing plural arrow vane type detectors at equal angles radially other than in horizontal and vertical directions when viewed from the nose direction. CONSTITUTION:The nose direction, right wing direction and under floor direction of aircraft are defined as X-, Y-, Z-axis directions, respectively. Arrow vane type detectors are disposed radially at equal angles by locating their rotating axes R1-R3 in the directions other than the Y-, Z-axis directions, unlike in prior art. The angle beta of sideslip of the body (the angle between the air current vector in the X-, Y-plane and the X-axis) and the angle alpha of incidence (the angle between the air current vector in the X-, Z-plane and the X-axis) can be calculated from the observation angles delta1-delta3 shown by the detectors R1-R3. If one detector out of these goes out of order, the information on the alpha, beta is contained in the observation value of the remaining two detectors and therefore it is determined by calculation.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image processing method, capable of automatically distinguishing a fixed star from other heavenly bodies from a large amount of observed images observed in a large range of the celestial sphere at all times, to detect unknown high-orbit/geostationary-orbit space debris, an asteroid or the like. SOLUTION: This method includes a means of extracting an image of the heavenly body from the respective images obtained, by continuous photographing in a fixed star-tracking mode; a means of extracting a shape feature a/b, an area s and a position of the center of gravity (x, y) of the image of the extracted heavenly body; a means of registering the extracted feature 1/b, an image number, an accumulation counter as a list; a means of adding '1' to the accumulation counter in the list, when it is decided that data are already registered in the list. It is distinguished, based mainly on a value of the accumulation counter whether the heavenly body is a fixed star or another heavenly star, and the space debris is distinguished from the image features, mainly the position of the center of gravity, the shape or the like.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring and detection method and a system therefor that can continuously and automatically detect an unknown or known flight object (including a celestial body, an artificial satellite, space debris or the like) and monitor the motion of a known celestial body or artificial object, throughout the sky. SOLUTION: For automatic monitoring and detection of the flight object, an optical device observes an object passing across a set region of an imaginary line (for example, a meridian) on a celestial sphere crossing the horizon, and a data processor compares observed data such as a place and a speed with known data, with the use of an image of the flight object passing across the imaginary line, an observation time of the image, and data on fixed stars, artificial satellites, known celestial bodies such as asteroids, and the like held in the processor, to thereby automatically sort known data on celestial bodies and other data from each other.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a system which is relatively easy to dispose and has high accuracy and reliability by disposing plural pieces of three axis orthogonal type inertia reference devices in specific positions in such a way that they are not paralleled with each other. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of three axis orthogonal type inertia reference devices are disposed in specific positions in such a way that they are not paralleled with each other. for example, the 1st three inertia sensors are disposed in the directions shown by arrows (x), (y) and (z) forming a right hand orthogonal system and the 2nd three inertia sensors are disposed in the directions shwon by arrows (x'), (y') and (z') forming a left hand orthogonal system.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the fine displacement of a surface to be measured with a high accuracy and in non-contacting manner by a method in which the period of double Moir e signal originated by focusing the lattice pattern of equal pitches provided on the surface of an object to be measured on the light receiving face of a solid image pickup element is measured. CONSTITUTION:White-black lattice pattern 1 of equal pitches is provided on the surface of an object 10 to be measured, and its image 11 is focused on the light receiving face of a sensor 12 by an optical system 2. The x axle of the sensor 12 is crossed with the longitudinal (y) direction of the lattice pattern 11 and photoelectric conversion elements (picture element) having same sizes are aligned linearly with equal intervals of the pitch r in the x axle direction. The pitch w of the elements 11 is increased to two times the pitch r by adjusting the optical system 2. When the center of the bright stripe of the lattice pattern 11 coincides with the center of the element 13, the envelope of output signal becomes two parallel lines, but when the pitch w is changed by fine displacement due to the expansion or shrinkage of the face 10 to be detected, a different signal of 180 deg. phase of the period of To according to the displacement is obtained. Thus, fine displacement can be measured with a high accuracy in non-contact manner.

Abstract: From a plurality of pictures 1 - 1 through 1 - 3 captured at successive time intervals, pictures 2 - 1 through 2 - 3 of regions determined in accordance with the movement of the celestial object are cut out. By deriving median values in regard to the same pixels in each of the cut-out pictures 2 - 1 through 2 - 3 , a median value picture 3 - 1 is created. By deriving median values, the influence of large numbers of fixed starts that hinder the detection of the moving celestial object that moves in the cut-out pictures is eliminated, and only the moving celestial object is permitted to remain. When deriving median value, pixel values indicating singular values are eliminated in advance, so that the effects of the images of large bright light sources and the lost pixels that output no pixel values are effectively reduced. Further, when an average value picture is created using a plurality of median value pictures previously obtained, the detection limit increases and a dark moving celestial object that cannot be detected using a single observation picture can be extracted.
