Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) receiving a first transmission scheduling resources for a second transmission having a first priority. The UE may determine that one or more symbols of the second transmission are to be unused due to receipt of a cancellation indication or due to identifying a conflict, for example, with higher priority resources. Based on determining that the symbols are to be unused, the UE may determine that the base station will not reschedule the unused resources for another transmission, for example, having the first priority. The UE and the base station may communicate based on the determination.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, for a master cell group and a secondary cell group used for a dual connectivity mode of the UE, information indicating physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring capability values for one or more of span-based monitoring or a combination of slot-based monitoring and span-based monitoring. The UE may receive, from the base station, PDCCH monitoring configuration values for the MCG and the SCG based at least in part on the PDCCH monitoring capability values. The UE may receive, from the first base station or from a second base station and during the first uplink transmission, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) grant for a second uplink transmission associated with a second priority higher than the first priority. The UE may cancel a remaining portion of the first uplink transmission based at least in part on receiving the PDCCH grant for the second uplink transmission. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently limiting a number of blind decoding attempts or control channel elements (CCEs) that a user equipment (UE) is configured to monitor to limit complexity at the UE. When a UE is configured to use blind decoding for monitoring CCEs in multiple spans in a slot for control information from a base station, the UE may be configured to perform dropping of blind decoding candidates or CCEs in a first temporal span in the slot. In other words, the UE may identify a dropping rule to drop CCE monitoring occasions or blind decoding attempts in excess of a maximum number of non-overlapping CCEs per span or a maximum number of blind decoding attempts per span, respectively, and the UE may apply the dropping rule to the first temporal span within the slot.
