SOLUTION: This block has open pores within a range from 10 to 40 vol.% and is characterized in that the open pores of 7 nm to 400 μm in diameter occupy >=30 vol.% of the open pores; the water holding rate ranges from 5 to 40 wt.%; the water permeability coefficient measured in compliance with JASS7 M-101 ranges from 1×10 to 1×10 cm/sec; and the bending strength is >=4 MPa.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aggregate block and a block structure for planting that cause no trouble of fly soil, have reduced weight and high construction workability with load on the structure reduced and can realize natural resource saving by recycle and with low costs. SOLUTION: The objective aggregate block is produced by forming and solidifying inorganic granules as an aggregate which are light-weight and have continuous and/or closed voids inside and 0.21-1.6 specific gravity and >=95 wt.% of the inorganic granules have 1.7-19 mm particle sizes. Consequently, the block has continuous voids formed in the spaces between the aggregates. The objective block structure characteristically uses the aggregate block as a plate supporter.

The composite is press molded and then fired at 1000-1250 deg.C to be made into the permeable block, having bending strength of 4-12 MPa, porosity of 10-30% and permeability coefficient of 0.01-0.15 cm/s.

SOLUTION: An aggregate raw material containing glass aggregate in a scope of 30 to 80 wt.% and porcelain aggregate in a scope of 70 to 20 wt.% and molding auxiliary in a scope of 1 to 10 wt.% for the aggregate raw material are mixed and then molded by pressing to obtain a molding. This molding is baked at a temperature in a scope of 750 to 1,050 deg.C to obtain the water permeable block having flexural strength of 4 MPa or more and a coefficient of water permeation of 0.01 cm/sec or more which are measured according to JASS 7 M-101.

SOLUTION: This water-pervious ceramic block is obtained by adding water to a porcelainous aggregate having a maximum particle diameter of 5 mm or less and a mean particle diameter within the range of 1 to 3 mm, mixing them so as to cover the surface of the aggregate with water, gradually adding and mixing a non-plastic binder, further gradually adding and mixing a plastic binder to form a molding having the void ratio of 20% or more, and then firing the molding at a temperature within the range of 850 to 1,300 deg.C.
