Abstract: Presensitized planographic printing plate for use in dry planography. A positive acting plate having a flexible base and a relatively thick (0.02 to 2.00 mil) silicone rubber layer, overlying a photo-polymerizable and photoadhesive-layer. Upon exposure to light through a positive transparency, the photoadhesive layer in the exposed non-image area polymerizes and adheres firmly to the thick silicone rubber overlayer, but the photoadhesive layer in the unexposed image area remains nonadhesive to the silicone overlayer. Following the exposure, the surface of the plate is treated with developing liquid capable of swelling silicone rubber. The thick silicone rubber layer in the unexposed image area is easily removed, exposing a sharp image of oleophilic photoadhesive layer underlying the removed silicone layer, while the silicone rubber layer in the exposed background area remains bound to the photoadhesive underlayer. The exposed surface of the photoadhesive layer accepts ink from inking rollers, while the silicone rubber background area does not remove ink from the rollers, and thus remains ink-free.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the problem of development by a frictional removing system of printing plates by providing fiber flocking parts, wherein the fibers have irregular sectional shapes. CONSTITUTION:A developing brush having fiber flocking parts wherein the fibers have irregular sectional shapes. Synthetic resins are used as the fibers constituting the brush. Natural fibers are inferior in durability and workability of sectional shapes to synthetic fibers and are therefore undesirable. For crimping of the fibers, the crimped fibers are more effective than straight fibers. The preferable sizes (diameters of monofilaments) are required to be 10-250 denier, more preferably 10-150 denier. The fibers finer than 10 denier are too soft and the fibers coarser than 250 denier are too hard. These single fibers are flocked to a flocking base and are made into a brush, with which the higher flocking density is more preferable than the lower density and the more particularly preferable density is 0.3-2kg/m .

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the printing resistance of the plate face of a lithographic printing plate using a silicone rubber layer as an ink repellent layer by coating a primer containing a silane compound or a condensate thereof and coating a silicone gum solution to form a silicone rubber film in retouching the plate face. CONSTITUTION:A defective portion or the like of an ink repellent layer is coated with a primer containing a silane compound of formula I [where R is (substituted) 1-20C alkyl, aryl or vinyl, X is H, halogen, primary-, secondary- or tertiary amino, CN, NCO, NCS, SH, OH, OR1, OCOR2 or a radical of formula II, and each of R1-R4 is 1-4C (substituted) alkyl] or a condensate thereof having a no. average MW of 100000 or less. The coated portion is then dried, coated with a silicone gum solution, and hardened to form a silicone rubber film. Thus, the film firmly adheres to the defective portion, resulting in a retouched plate face with superior printing resistance.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent peeling of a surface protecting film in exposure process by making the peeling force of the self-adhesive tapes fixing the photosensitive material having surface protective film onto a fixing plate from the said protective film to the specific values. CONSTITUTION:Exposure is performed by fixing a photosensitive material 1 having a surface protective film 1a to a fixing plate 2 by means of self-adhesive tapes 3, placing an engraving film 5 affixed to a print frame glass plate 4 attached with a rubber packing 6 at the circumferential edge part thereon and closely contacting the film 5 with the photosensitive material 1 by sucking through a suction port 7. In this exposure method, the peeling force between the said self-adhesive tapes 3 and the protecting film 1a is made less than 20 times the peeling force between the protective film 1a and an under-layer thereof (photosensitive material 1). Namely, this may be achieved by using tapes of smaller self-adhesive forces than those of conventional uses as the tapes 3 or applying release agent treatment to at least the peripheral parts of the protective film 1a of the photosensitive material 1.
